Once upon a time a weary traveler, searching for wisdom, arrived at an ancient temple hidden deep
in the mountains. Inside, he found three grand doors, each with a sign, past, present, and future.
An old sage stood beside them and said, enter any door, and you shall find the answers you seek.
Curious, the traveler opened the past door first. Inside, he saw visions of his childhood,
his regrets, and all the mistakes he had made. He became overwhelmed with sorrow and self-blame.
He quickly shut the door. Next, he entered the future door.
He saw endless possibilities, but also fear, uncertainty, and events beyond his control.
Anxiety gripped his heart as he realized how powerless he was over what had yet to come.
He rushed out, shaken. Finally, he hesitantly stepped through the present door.
To his surprise, there was no vision, just a peaceful garden with a flowing stream.
The air was fresh, and the sun warmed his face. For the first time, he felt truly alive,
unburdened by regret or fear. The sage smiled and said, the past is unchangeable,
and the future is unpredictable. True wisdom is found in living fully in the present.
From that day on, the traveler no longer dwelled on what was or what might be,
he simply embraced the beauty of now. The moral of the story is, true wisdom and
peace come from living in the present. Dwelling on the past brings regret,
and worrying about the future brings anxiety, but embracing the present allows us to experience life
fully and with clarity.
