The only thing that I really regret is that it's easy to have a monster if you never meet them.
The monster doesn't exist.
At that point we hadn't seen each other in two, three years.
If she ever wanted to sit in front of me and she'd be met with kindness.
Scooter Braun offering an olive branch to Taylor Swift on the Question Everything
podcast amid their years-long war.
It's just unbelievable.
The nasty feud erupted in 2019 when his company acquired The Masters for her first
six studio albums. His motivation?
The whole reason I did that deal was not only because I believed in Big Machine.
You don't make a deal at that level unless you believe in her.
You know, so I believed that she was going to become exactly who she's remained to be.
I don't have any nefarious reasons.
That was a major risk for me at the time to buy that company.
I couldn't afford to do it for nefarious reasons. That doesn't make any sense.
But in a scathing public letter, Taylor put Scooter on blast,
claiming she was denied the opportunity to buy The Masters herself.
This is Taylor's revenge in all its glory.
She spent the next six years re-recording every track, finally reclaiming them all in 2025.
It was an amazing experience. And this was something that
started out as a really hard thing I went through. The fans are the people,
they were just saying to me over and over again,
we want to listen to your versions. If you redo it, that's what we'll listen to.
Now Scooter, who's a divorced dad of three, is looking back on the battle,
claiming he got death threats from Swifties and even felt suicidal.
I just wish that it didn't take such a toll on my family.
It was the first time that I had ever had any negative press.
What surprised me is how overnight everything I had done before didn't matter.
Even talking about this now, there's going to be hello Swifties,
they're going to be yelling and screaming. And it was a very tough time for us
because there's a lot of people out there that don't understand and they hear this stuff and
they take it to a level that's really not okay. The 44-year-old investor now pitching a peace summit.
The only thing that I really regret is that, you know, we never had an opportunity to sit
in front of each other and actually have a conversation to this day.
I was managing people she wasn't a fan of and she probably saw my name come up and was like,
I don't like those people, so I don't like him. I don't know what she was told,
but if she ever wanted to sit in front of me, then she'd be met with kindness.
