Trapping RARE Aquarium Fish For My BACKYARD POND!

It's been long overdue You guys have wanted us for a long time to see who's the best fish trapper out of the two of us We already know it's me, but we're gonna do the video. Anyways, just to prove it Uh, so we each have a fish trap. I have this one um, oh Oh, yeah, you probably do need the extra help. So that's my fish trap That's rob's and we're gonna see who can catch the most fish I honestly didn't mean to unravel it right then it just kind of came out. But yeah, this is my fish trap guys I'm, not even kidding. It's a 16 foot fish trap and we're gonna use it today It's the it's the debut world's biggest fish trap and we found it and I just can't wait to use it, dude I mean look at this thing. It's like a slinky. How does this even work? Oh, dude, that is insane Okay, so each trap has its own individual Little little thing dude. I can't wait. This is what i'm working with today. You know, it's nothing nothing crazy It's it's you know humble with my skills We're gonna put them to the test and see if I can catch more than rob in all seriousness We're here at one of my favorite spots recently Loaded with african cichlids because you know using a trap this big I wanted to catch as many fish as possible The coolest fish as possible. So we're here at this little spillway spot that we recently found and uh, This place is just loaded with cool cichlids like africans oscars south americans like jack dempsey's I actually got a dm from a subscriber the other day saying he caught four jack dempsey's here and not gonna lie I'm a little jealous because I love me some jack dempsey's and I still haven't got one here So that's what i'm trying today. I'm trying to get me some jack dempsey's, but we'll see Hello, look at all these rocks that they could be hiding in look at that play co He's just sitting on the rock. Oh, look at this rob. Look down here two cichlids Are those jack dempsey's guys? I think i've just spotted two jack dempsey's literally right off the bat. Look at those There's one big one and then a second big one right next to it We have no idea what those are. They could really be anything. They could be oscars texas cichlids. We've caught here It's one of our best spots and what better way to use our new 16 foot fish trap than you know this spot So yeah, we're gonna bait our traps up and place them in the water And yeah, i'm just really excited to see what this monstrosity of a fish trap will catch look at this thing Okay, we brought a lot of bait because we know it's a big trap I guess we'll just sprinkle a little bit of fish food. This is literal fish food So it's gotta work. So there's side holes here. And then once they get to here It's front holes that go all the way into the middle. Wow. So if a fish is in there There's no way that it's gonna get out. I guess what i'll do is i'll put fish Fish food all the way up in there. Oh my god everywhere. Honestly. We're gonna let this sit for a couple hours We're gonna go netting in the canal We're gonna net all the plants here like stuff like this and the fish are usually gonna be sleeping in it And hopefully we catch them with the net. I'm just really excited to see what we pull. Oh my god I almost fell in that would have been i'm really excited to see what we pull out of this chain of canals tonight Uh, usually we get some really cool stuff. So i'm really excited. We have a 16 foot fish trap this time We're gonna get to netting and see what we can catch guys. The pit's really muddy now, but we know there's a lot of fish in here We just pulled out a jaguar saw a bunch of jacked emcees I think i'm just gonna take some blind nets in here and see if I can catch any because I really want one Oh, come on Oh, we got a lot of muck. Please please please i'm begging you Oh my god It's an akara It's a giant akara Guys, oh my gosh. Now the more common fish like this very similar as an electric blue akara These are really cool. I have a couple. Oh my god, chill out, but they're really pretty look at the face on them They kind of look like a green terror. I'm even happier than a jacked emcee That's a little bit more rare here great additions to the cichlid pond This pit is producing even though it's some small little area. There's a lot of fish concentrated in it I saw something right there Please tell me I got it. What is that? Oh rob. Look at this. What the heck is that? Look at the gold flakes on them Oh, yeah, it's got gold dots all over them We're gonna throw them back but comment down below what kind of fish this is we don't know if it's like an aquarium fish or if it's native, but It's a really cool looking fish guys. I think we just scared all the fish in this little pit This is an interesting spot we walked up and there was literally hundreds Of cichlids and most of them looked like jacked emcees and other african cichlids So guys if you want to see a fish trap dedicated to this spot, maybe like a little 24 hour action Let me know in the comments. I say we explore it more Let's go to the main canal and start netting around over there right next to our fish trap. There's tons of fish Yeah, there's a lot of fish. Look at that big one right there. Look at that big one and another one Dude, our fish trap has culled over so many cichlids already. That's very exciting. I can't wait to see what they are Oh, look at that piece of wood. That has to be something under it Guys, there was a piece of wood in the canal And that's gotta mean that some sort of cichlid was under it because they love structure. I don't know. Oh my god Look at that dude. Look at the blue on this one. Oh, it's a little juvenile too. He's not even that big Oh, it's just a baby. That's so cool guys. We catch these a lot here and we catch the orange ones Those are the most, you know common ones we'll catch he's getting there He's not a big boy yet But we're gonna keep him in the bucket And we're gonna bring him back to the cichlid pond at the end of this video And to grow him out to be a big boy. We're not even in the fish trap. We still have those traps later But yeah, we're already catching us some cool fish Let's see. Oh my god. What is that rob? Oh, that's so gross Oh big scoop there has to be something guys we're seeing so many fish I think they're just really fast a lot of creepy crawlies. Oh, what is that? Is that like a root no Oh my god. Oh my god. It's moving. What is that? It's an alien. Ew Is that just like a massive bug? Wait, i've caught these rob. Yeah, it's a fish I've actually caught these before it's been so long. What? Yeah. Look there's the mouth. That's really cool Now they're kind of like they're they're like an algae eater. I think I forgot what they're called guys. Forgive me That's so crazy. He looks dead. Oh, you just kicked there, you know, he's alive now just like a little stick bug fish Long little beak. That's cool There he goes just sink to the bottom. Look at that. He just sucks onto the bucket Not a jack dempsey, but we're on the right track. That's something cool guys. We're here at the trap I'm taking a little snake peek because i'm curious. I want to see because last time we looked there was a lot of fish There's fish all around the trap. Let's look at the actual. Oh I see one Look at that. He's right there That's a big old orange african cichlid. Oh, yeah, he's done already in the trap. We got him dude I want to pull it up. Should we pull it? No, no, no, no, definitely not. Oh, I want to pull it up Okay, let's just hope he doesn't find his way out. This trap is very complex. So I doubt it but Yeah, it is another one right next to it where Yeah, look see that one To the left of the orange one. That's another african. I think look at the look at the crawfish Oh, yeah, hey Rob, should we take a little sneak peek at your trap? Yeah, we could try. Oh, it's deep down there. Oh my please I caught a bunch of shrimp shrimp. I mean we'll throw it back out there and once we check the actual big trap We'll check it in see if you caught anything. But uh, at least we got something in that one Guys, there's a freaking intruder at our spot. Come here Hey Oh my god, hey, what do you think you're doing? That's a mabuna That's the parent Uh, the little one we caught earlier I think is an offspring from one of these guys, so that's really cool We're catching all sorts of them. All right, guys. This has been one rough night You guys haven't seen that but we've been here for over almost two hours netting around It's just such a hard place to fish. I mean the the banks are really steep. And yeah, our nets don't have handles So that doesn't help. So what we're gonna do we're gonna rely on our fish traps Now we have my 16 foot fish trap marinating We've already caught multiple africans from what we can see. And yeah guys, we're gonna give it another hour We're gonna come back here check our fish traps and see who won this challenge The loser has to kiss the possum. So oh i'm really excited. We're gonna check rob's first Uh just to get that out of the way, you know, I mean odds are I probably caught everything out of the canal anyways So last time we checked your trap rob you caught shrimp. You see all the fishes down there. Oh, dude I kid you not. I just saw jack dempsey like I see him. No, I see him. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I see him Oh, dude, pull up your trap right now quick. I've only caught like two of these before look at that do a little pinch test bro. That is so That one hurt What is with the orange this is a feisty little guy, yeah Now I know the blue ones are actually near the florida. I don't know about these orange ones though. Oh, I got him What is that? Oh my god. Oh, that's a little cool spotted little catfish. Oh, yeah, that's pretty sick I have no idea what that is. He's really cool though. That's really cool Okay, let's just keep going through another big giant mbuna Big old obi. All right. Come on. Come on snail giant snail got in there somehow Oh, dude, baby, texas cichlid. Oh nice. Oh my god. That is so sick. Look at the coloration on that one Two more africans. These are babies dude. I don't like how it's so hard to get these fish out, bro Look at that another little baby. I'm gonna check each little pocket here I think that's everything there was crawfish normal crawfish All over it, but I don't think they actually went in right now where we're at These canals connect to the everglades where we catch them all the time look at this Oh, that is a pretty eel. Oh, he's gorgeous. Oh, he's gorgeous. Look at it All right, we're not gonna stress them out. We're gonna get them in a cooler right now on a bubbler We got lots of fish in here you guys i'm really excited guys comment down below who you think won. It's just way too hard on the fish It's hard to get them out of it But yeah, we'll see you guys back at my house when we put these guys into a pond All right guys now we're back in my house now I know we didn't show the fish too up close as we were pulling them out of the trap It was just very chaotic. We wanted to get the fish out and safely get them in water as fast as possible But now we're back home. We're gonna start with this fire You know, we're gonna net it out of this cooler and then run them to my koi pond where the other five are that's right Guys, we have six in total now. We gave him the cooler all to himself. Oh, oh no. Oh, no, they're slimy Get in the net. Okay. There we go. Look at this thing Oh my god, he's so cool Look at that Oh, wow. Okay. There he goes Look how sick that is. See his nose right there. He got it caught in the trap So it's a little busted but that will heal dude. That's a giant eel. That is the coolest thing ever Now we're gonna head to the back to the cichlid pond and put all the cichlids in there I think that's where the rest of these fish are going. So let's head back there Oh, I forgot about this guy. Look at that the little stick fish That's what we're gonna call them guys, but we're gonna put them in this pond because this is where we put the other one Oh, there's an axolotl. Oh, hey, buddy Look at that guys little axolotl. Oh, that's adorable. I think that's the one I caught. Yeah Guys, those are those salamanders What are you doing? Sick little fish going in Look at that thing. It's not even real. Okay. Now we've made it to the cichlid pond. Check it out It's so crazy at night when they're all sleeping It's just full of cichlids and we have more to add to it tonight, let's just see handfuls here Oh, I forgot about this thing Honestly, we could probably just add this catfish to it because probably if we caught him in the same area I don't know. I feel like he would do good in here. So there he goes. Oh, look at the whiskers on him Oh, he's pretty cool. That's really cool. All right, and then we got this big old mabuna. That's a really cool one Oh, yeah, there's the akara. There's another mabuna sweet new additions In you guys go. I had no idea we caught this many. Look at these guys In you go another ob Really cool fish. Look at this little guy. He said oh he got away. Look at the handful of fish we got here Look at that That's just so cool. Look at the colors in they go. This guy right here is a texas cichlid Beautiful colors on them already as a baby. So add them to the pond. Look at them. They're all like different sizes, too This is so cool, dude, look, it's one of your friends. Oh, oh, hey buddy, you're gonna be mingling in here Oh, there's another one. Oh, yeah, those are the ones I caught. Yeah a little pied. Oh, there's an orange one back there Oh, there he goes. All right.
