Summer is unfolding with its long, bright and never-ending warm days.
Nature celebrates fertility and as the sun shines on our lives, I feel it too, deep in my bones,
this desire to celebrate the long-awaited light and to honor it with fullness and abundance.
Making the most of what we have is inherent to summertime.
It's not really about what you eat or what you do, as long as you're in a celebratory mood.
Enjoying a simple hearty meal in our garden is something I would feel guilty about if I didn't
do it. There are simple pleasures that should not be missed out on. No need to go to the other end
of the world to find this kind of contentment. No need to spend a lot or to do extraordinary things.
This can be just as unforgettable.
I recently had an entire day to myself and as a mom it is not that common.
I decided to spend it taking care of myself. Essential oils are my best friend.
You may know that by now. I recently started experimenting with oils in different ways
and this simple practice I'm sharing with you always works wonders for me.
It reduces my stress and calms my mind.
Lavender and basil essential oils have soothing properties that are perfect for a moment of calm.
I put about six drops of lavender and only two drops of basil
in my oil diffuser and let the blend perfume the room for a few minutes.
Before I add some in two tablespoons of epsom salt.
This is the right quantity for a food bath. Feel free to add more if you're taking a full bath.
Fill in a basin or any kind of large wash bowl with hot water and let your feet soak
until the water gets cold. Epsom salt soothes the skin and reduces stress. Combined with essential
oils it can help your body get rid of toxins and your mind get rid of unwanted past energies.
The feet being a point of entrance or exit in the body. It's a part that needs special care and love.
So there's a little bit of a break in the middle of this first big heat wave. The first big heat
wave of the summer. Today it's a little bit chilly. It's even actually starting to rain.
Yeah it's raining but it's been very very hot lately so it actually feels good to have
a little bit of a break to see clouds again. So I'm super excited because
the flowers in the garden are gorgeous. My plants are actually blooming.
My centellina is in bloom. Lovely little yellow flowers. It's doing really good.
The imotelle is soon going to be in bloom too. The buds are slowly starting to open up.
This one has gotten so big this year. It's huge. Three times bigger than it was last year.
A deep purple and almost a pink one in the same bush.
There's another one here behind the nettles but we have not
made room for it. I'm afraid you can barely see it. We should definitely try and take care of that.
Our rose bushes have had an amazing blooming time. It's just ending actually but there are
two or three different blooming times in a year for rose bushes so it should be a second one soon.
They were gorgeous. The roses were just amazing. Sorry I couldn't show them to you.
Gosh it feels so good to be outside when it's about to rain. There's something mysterious in the air.
