The Wellin Museum presents Dannielle Tegeder's first solo museum exhibition. An abstract painter based in New York City, Tegeder is a midcareer artist whose work has been exhibited extensively around the world including one-person gallery shows in New York City, Berlin, Paris, Mexico City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston, and Chicago. Tegeder's work challenges the boundaries of traditional painting through the integration of animation, sculpture, installation, photography, and sound. The exhibition at the Wellin focuses on work from the last five years in various media and features new works created specifically for this exhibition, including a 40-foot wall drawing, a site-specific installation, and a series of large-scale paintings and drawings.
A fully illustrated publication with essays by Tracy L. Adler, Barry Schwabsky, and Claire Gilman, and an interview with the artist by Xandra Eden will be published in July 2013.
