This video brings together a powerful collection of clips and voices that explore the Eagle and the Condor Prophecy from the perspectives of Indigenous Nations including the Anishinaabe, Inca, Lakota, Mohawk, Algonquin, Ihanktonwan, Dakota, Mayan, Chickasaw, and many others. Versions of this prophecy exist in nearly every Indigenous tradition around the world.
At its heart, the prophecy speaks to the unity of all life — that everything and everyone is connected. It offers guidance for addressing pressing concerns such as:
- Climate change and environmental destruction (""Earth Changes"")
- Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW)
- The legacy of residential schools
- The sacredness of water, air, and Mother Earth
- Our relationships with each other and all species
What Is the Eagle and the Condor Prophecy?
This ancient prophecy, originating in the Amazon, tells of two paths:
- The Condor represents the heart, intuition, and the feminine
- The Eagle represents the mind, industry, and the masculine
According to the prophecy, a 500-year period of dominance by the Eagle began in the 1490s, coinciding with the colonization of the Americas. However, beginning in the 1990s, a new potential emerged — for the Eagle and the Condor to fly together once again, ushering in a higher consciousness and spiritual unity.
