The Calm Goose and the Hungry Eagle
Once upon a time, in a peaceful, green grassland, there lived three best friends.
A cheerful chicken, a playful duck, and a wise, calm goose.
Every day, they played together under the blue sky.
They pecked at seeds, splashed in puddles,
and rested in the soft shade of a big, old rock in the middle of the field.
One sunny morning, while Chicken was searching for worms,
she looked up and saw a shadow moving across the grass.
High above, circling the sky, was a hungry eagle, looking for food.
Chicken's eyes grew wide with fear.
Oh no! An eagle! She squawked.
She flapped her wings and ran as fast as she could to Duck.
Duck! Duck! There's a hungry eagle! He's looking for us! Chicken screamed.
Duck's feathers ruffled with fright.
Oh no! Oh no! What do we do? Duck quacked.
They both ran to Goose, yelling and flapping and quacking all at once.
Goose! Goose! There's an eagle! He's going to eat us!
cried Chicken and Duck together.
But Goose just looked at them with his calm, gentle eyes.
Take a deep breath, Goose said kindly.
If you keep screaming, the eagle will hear us for sure.
Chicken and Duck tried to be quiet.
Their feathers still shook, but they trusted Goose.
Follow me, said Goose softly.
He led them to the big rock they always played near.
Hide under here. Stay still and quiet.
The eagle won't find us if he can't see or hear us.
So Chicken, Duck, and Goose squeezed under the big rock.
They pressed close together, listening to the wind and the soft rustle of the grass.
Above them, the hungry eagle circled and circled, looking for his meal.
But when he couldn't see any chickens or ducks or geese, he got bored.
Hmm, there's nothing to eat here, thought the eagle.
So he flapped his huge wings and soared away, searching for food in a new place far away.
When it was safe, Goose peeked out first.
He looked at the sky and smiled.
It's okay now, Goose whispered. You can come out.
Chicken and Duck hopped out, their feathers still a little ruffled, but their hearts calm.
Thank you, Goose, clucked Chicken.
Yeah, you saved us, quacked Duck.
Goose smiled and wrapped his wings around his friends.
Remember, said Goose, when you feel scared, stay calm and think.
There is always a safe place, and I will always help you find it.
From that day on, Chicken and Duck knew that with their calm Goose friend by their side,
they could always feel safe in their beautiful grassland.
And so, under the soft glow of the moon and the twinkling stars,
Chicken, Duck and Goose snuggled together, dreaming of sunny days and safe adventures.
Good night, little ones!
