Hey guys, Joy McCarthy here, Holistic Nutritionist.
So I'm going to show you how to make a London Fog, Joyous Style.
So what I mean by Joyous Style is I have revamped your classic London Fog that normally has dairy milk.
And I make it with coconut milk instead and other nourishing ingredients.
So I'm going to show you step by step how to make my London Fog.
So first you obviously want to start out with good quality tea.
So I have my earl grey tea, that's what you want to use is an earl grey tea.
So I use about a teaspoon and I'm going to just pop that into my mug here.
I have boiled some filtered water.
I'm going to pour that about half way up in my mug.
Like so.
And you want to let it steep for a couple of minutes.
I'd say let it steep for about three minutes.
And while that's steeping we're going to steam some coconut milk.
So I have about a quarter cup, maybe a little bit less of coconut milk in the little jug here.
So I have my coconut milk here.
While I'm waiting for this to heat up, just so you know you don't have to have a fancy milk steamer.
You can also gently warm the coconut milk on your stove top as well.
Okay.
So I'm just going to warm this a bit.
Okay that's getting warm now.
I can feel it's warm on the bottom so that's pretty much perfect.
So I've been steeping my tea now for a couple of minutes.
So I'm just going to take the tea out.
It's loose leaf tea by the way, I forgot to mention.
And I'm going to add my steamed coconut milk.
So I'm just going to pour this in.
And then on top we've got like a nice little foam.
Obviously if you do it on your stove top you won't get the foam but that's totally okay.
And I'm going to add some really dark, so this is grade C number 3 maple syrup.
Which means it's really rich tasting maple syrup.
Maple syrup is actually a health food.
It's got minerals in it, antioxidants.
So I'm just going to put a tiny little bit in here like that.
And then I'm going to sprinkle it with some cinnamon as well.
I have some organic cinnamon so I'm just going to sprinkle it on top.
It smells so good.
I love the smell of earl grey tea.
It's so like flowery and delicious.
And just the combination of all these ingredients is awesome.
I'm actually going to give it just a little stir.
And I'm going to give it a little sip.
And that's how you make a joyous London fog.
It's like a warm hug.
That is the best way to describe it.
Oh it's so yummy, I love it.
