The Yokouchi Residence, designed by Kidosaki Architects Studio, is a serene retreat nestled among the lush woodlands of Karuizawa, Japan. Conceived as a peaceful escape for a busy doctor and his wife, the home is set low among the trees to harmonize with its natural surroundings. Featuring deep 1.7-meter eaves and barrier-free interiors, the house invites greenery inside while offering framed views from every room. With refined details and a floating roofline, the design creates a tranquil atmosphere that merges indoor comfort with the calming beauty of the forest.
