Hi friends! Welcome back to my channel. If you're new here my name is Alyssa.
Today we are doing a kind of impromptu video. I wasn't planning on doing this
but the Dalgona or Dalgona coffee slash whipped coffee craze has been going
crazy all over the internet and as a non-coffee
drinker I wanted to come up with a matcha version. So I decided to do it
really quickly last week. I wanted to give you guys a video because
this recipe is freaking phenomenal and I know you're going to
love it. So I'm going to show you how to make whipped matcha today. It only uses
four ingredients. It's super simple to make and it is
super super delicious. So this full recipe is up on the blog for
you. You can find the link right down below this video
and before we dive in don't forget to subscribe by clicking the red button
right below this video and without further ado let's go ahead
and get started. All right let's quickly review the ingredients first. We are
using chickpea liquid which is the liquid from
a can of chickpeas. We are also using some coconut sugar,
matcha powder, make sure it's ceremonial grade, as well as
boiling water. We are going to start by adding the coconut sugar,
matcha, and boiling water into a small bowl and we're going to whisk that all
together until the sugar dissolves as much as
possible. Our goal is to get any of the sugar crystals to get
dissolved so that this is like a smooth liquid.
Once we have that we can set it aside and we will
start with our chickpea liquid. So if you've never made aquafaba before this
is what we're making. It's basically just the liquid, like I
said, out of a chickpea can. So drain your chickpeas through a fine mesh
strainer into a bowl, pour that liquid into your
mixer or you can use a hand mixer as well and
what we're going to do is whisk this up on high
until it forms stiff peaks. So it's going to whip and whip and whip and whip for
about a minute or so and once it is whipped up it will form
the consistency of egg whites and this is actually
going to be what we're using to make our frothy
whipped matcha. So once you reach the stiff peak
consistency it's going to look kind of like this
and then turn your mixer back on and slowly
drizzle in that matcha sugar water mixture
and continue to beat your mixer until it's all combined and this
combination or this aquafaba has turned green from the matcha
and that is essentially our whipped matcha
topping. So to make the latte part itself
it's super easy. You can either serve this over iced
almond milk, which is what I'm going to show you now, or you could steam some
almond milk and heat it up on the stove or whatever,
pour it into your mug and then put this stuff on top and it would be
a hot whipped matcha latte. So up to you. Either way, this is the consistency that
we're looking for. It's kind of like a frothy whipped
matcha concoction. I don't know how else to describe it but we are going to
add our almond milk into our glass then we will top it with
some of that whipped matcha mixture and then I like to finish mine off with
the sprinkle of some matcha powder. I just think it looks really pretty.
Totally optional. You definitely don't have to do that. And then
I like to use a straw or a spoon to kind of
stir this into the almond milk so that it gets
kind of combined so that you have like a more mixed
latte so you're not just drinking almond milk right out of your
glass. But this is, like I said, just like my version of that
whipped Dalgona coffee and I hope you guys try it.
It's really delicious. You can see how simple it is to make
and it's also something that you could make ahead and then re-whip if you
wanted to which I'll explain in just a second. So I hope you guys
enjoy it.
And there you have it my friends. I hope you enjoyed today's whipped matcha
recipe. As you can see, it is so simple to make.
It tastes absolutely amazing and this is a recipe
that I personally am going to be drinking
all summer long. So if you do want to make a big batch because this does make
four servings, if you do make a big batch and you want
to store it in the fridge, you totally can.
You can re-whip this either by hand with a whisk
or with a beater or with your electric mixer
and it works every single time. So it's so good. It's super,
I don't know, customizable I guess but it just tastes really good. So
thank you guys so much for watching. Don't forget to get the recipe down in
the description box if it's a little loud today. This is,
like I said, a very impromptu video so I have my windows open. There are birds
chirping outside but I hope you guys could still hear me
and enjoyed it. Please give it a thumbs up if you did.
