SpaceX Starship Flight 10 to launch into orbit finally on the edge!
This is unexpected!
Starship Flight 10 is launching sooner than anyone expected, and the signs are now impossible to ignore.
Booster 16 is already standing tall inside Mega Bay 1, locked in and waiting for its turn to fly. Ship 37? It’s almost fully assembled. OLM’s Pad A is wrapping up critical upgrades to support static fire testing for the upper stage.
But here’s the real kicker: SpaceX has quietly submitted a request to the FCC for authorization to launch Starship Flight 10. And the date they’ve proposed will absolutely surprise you.
Now, with all the final pieces falling into place, this could be the biggest and most impactful flight yet, a massive leap forward in SpaceX’s journey.
So, what can we expect from this groundbreaking launch?
Let’s dive into today’s episode of Alpha Tech.
SpaceX Starship Flight 10 to launch into orbit finally on the edge!
On July 12, SpaceX submitted a new Special Temporary Authority request to the Federal Communications Commission, related to the upcoming Starship Test Flight 10. In the document, SpaceX specifies that the flight is planned to launch from Starbase, Texas, with the requested operational window running from August 4, 2025, to April 2, 2026.
This suggests that Starship Flight 10 could potentially launch as early as August 4, which would reflect an incredibly fast and efficient turnaround following the issues caused by Ship 36.
However, a later launch date is still possible, since the filing doesn’t confirm an exact schedule. It simply outlines a timeframe to support mission-related communications, meaning the flight could take place anytime within that one-year window starting August 4.

And judging by how quickly things are progressing at Starbase, that goal suddenly feels much more realistic. The pace is especially evident when you look at the current status of the flight hardware.
On the night of July 9, three engines were on the move, one RVac and two sea-level Raptors. One RVac and one sea-level engine were successfully delivered into Mega Bay 2, while the other sea-level Raptor, for some unknown reason, was redirected and brought back just as it was approaching the door. Even so, this engine activity is a really good sign for Ship 37. Its heat shield is also nearly complete. With all engines now assembled and ready, the chances of a static fire test in the coming days are looking very promising.
