Hey hey hey hey, dear Swissies, Switzerland lovers, road trip lovers, and nature lovers, and rain lovers, and snow lovers.
Yeah, you maybe think, why snow lovers?
Because it is almost end of March, and probably all of you are waiting on spring.
And yeah, in some areas in Switzerland, spring already arrived.
But, and this is a big but.
Yeah, there is cold air coming from the north, coming from the north.
And that will give us temperatures below zero degrees.
Not today, but tomorrow.
Yeah, today right now at this place, we have four degrees.
We are at Wilderswil, in the canton Bern.
Bern is Oberland.
Yeah, and I will take you with me into winter wonderland again.
Yeah, yeah.
I heard some of you were missing my voice during the last video.
But sometimes, you know, I don't know exactly what to do or where to go.
Then I am not sure what I should talk about.
You know what I mean?
And sometimes I am just not in the mood to talk.
Yeah, but today, yes, I am in the mood.
I am in the mood to talk to you.
You can already see the snowy trees over there above.
Yeah, here is spring with the yellow trees.
Yeah, it is very windy as you can see.
And on higher altitudes, there is snow.
And I was thinking about going up to Murren.
Or going to Grindelwald.
But the thing is, Grindelwald is not that high.
I think Grindelwald is about 1200 meters.
Or 1100, I don't know.
And the big snowfall already came.
And they announced about 30 centimeters until 50 centimeters of fresh new snow in the Alps.
And that's good.
You know why? Because Europe is very dry.
So we need all the snow and all the rain coming down right now.
Yeah, it is very, very good for nature.
So yes, and then I decided to go to Grindelwald.
Yeah, because I was several times in Murren already.
And I guess I had not much winter impressions from Grindelwald.
That's why we go to Grindelwald together.
I am quite sure that we will drive directly into greatest winter wonderland.
Maybe not in Grindelwald itself, but above Grindelwald.
I will stay with Rostam. He is in my car.
I will stay at Grindelwald port overnight.
The reason I will stay there overnight is that I want to have
untouched snow in the morning.
Yeah, for nice pictures, you know.
Yeah, so that's why I invest in my hotel.
And yeah, I hope that my plan will work out fine.
Now the road is still wet, but not snowy.
But you will see, we are soon in winter.
And soon the rain will turn into snow.
Yeah, I think it already does.
Are you a little bit afraid?
No, you don't have to be afraid.
I am a careful driver.
And not all the cars are carefully driving.
As you can see, sometimes they are just on my side.
I don't like that.
Yeah, you always have to be careful here in the Bernese Oberland.
When you are on the road.
Yeah, especially when snow is coming.
I still have my winter tires on.
Normally they say you could change your tires at Easter.
You can change to summer tires.
And in October you have to change back again to winter tires.
The winter tires are much better with snow.
They have better grip, you know.
Yeah, but I still have winter tires on.
Because I am on winterly roads so many times.
Also sometimes in April.
And that's why I change maybe in May.
Bad weather.
It's angry.
The weather is angry.
OK, we are in Smiley Tunnel now.
And we go on the left now.
We go to Greenland.
Oh, that's bad weather.
Oh, gruselig rusig.
Yeah, we call it gruselig rusig in Switzerland.
Such a funny word.
Wow.
I am so curious how it will look like in a few minutes.
Crazy.
And you just can watch it at home on the computer or on the TV.
I don't know how you watch it.
Or on the tablet.
Yeah.
Crazy.
Yeah.
My ankle is still not good.
I sprained my ankle a few weeks ago.
I think it's four weeks now.
It's better.
But there are still some movements on which I have aches on the foot.
Yeah.
But, you know, I miss hiking.
So we will try to do a little hike today.
I don't think that it is a dangerous one.
It's on the road and I have my spikes on.
Yeah.
I do not forget my spikes.
Yeah.
This time.
Otherwise I slip again and I fall again.
And I sprained again my ankle.
And I don't want to do this again.
Yeah.
So.
I hope it's not that worse when I hike up.
The plan is that I go up to a place.
A parking place near the Kotel Weatherhorn.
And then I hike down a little bit the road.
And then I go up again.
Yeah.
Into the direction of Grindelwald Port.
It is about.
Yeah.
It is about two hours.
But I still hope everything will work out fine.
Because.
The parking place is very high.
So I'm quite sure that we are in winter there.
Yeah.
Oh, look at the car.
Yeah.
They have snow on the roof.
OK.
Yeah.
That's cool.
Yeah.
I already can see some winterly houses.
It's OK.
But not many people are driving today.
They may be afraid.
But as I said.
I think in Grindelwald.
Itself.
It is not that much snow.
And the coldest.
The coldest time is.
I think in the early morning.
Yeah.
Then we have about minus five degrees.
Something like that.
And then it goes up.
To warmer temperatures immediately.
Yeah.
Spring will be back in.
On Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday.
So this snow in the lower areas.
Will not stay.
Yeah.
And I told you.
I had some.
Some friends at home.
Last week.
Yeah.
Some of them.
I didn't see them.
For about half a year.
And the other couple.
About one year.
Or one and a half year.
And sometimes.
It is good to meet old friends.
The problem is.
Is that.
You know.
I have to plan my work a little bit.
Because I cannot.
Yeah.
Have a break for two days.
You know.
Yeah.
No one is doing my work.
In this time.
So I have to plan.
Four works.
Yeah.
But it was OK.
Yeah.
It worked out really good.
But yeah.
It's always work.
Every day.
Seven days a week.
Every week.
Every weeks in the year.
All the weeks.
Yeah.
I think since.
Since.
2014.
I have.
I'm working.
Seven days.
A week.
It's OK.
I love my work.
And sometimes.
It's kind of.
Vacations too.
Yeah.
I always work.
But it's kind of vacations too.
Because I work outdoor.
Oh.
Look.
The train over there.
Yeah.
I'm totally alone on this road.
Normally.
There are so many people on this road.
Up to Grindelwald.
But I think they are shopping in Interlochen.
Shopping some Swiss watches.
And some Swiss chocolates.
Some Swiss cheese.
Yeah.
You can already see winter over there.
Yeah.
This is not unusual.
This is not.
For once.
It's not the.
Don't blame it on the climate change.
It's.
It's quite abnormal.
That.
There is snowfall in.
In March.
And sometimes.
There is also snowfall in April.
It's not unusual.
Yeah.
Oh.
I'm so looking forward to hike a little bit.
It will be a very moody hike.
Yeah.
There is no sun today.
But tomorrow.
I'm.
I'm quite sure that.
We will have very.
Very nice winter wonderland.
With some sun.
I'm looking forward to this.
That's why I want to be.
On the mountains.
In the early morning.
But today is only.
Snowfall.
Everywhere white.
And foggy.
And cloudy.
So.
Ready for winter?
Oh.
Yeah.
Now it's snowfall.
I love this.
You know.
You start in.
In spring.
With some rainfall.
And then you come up to winter.
It's good.
And it is very relaxed.
Because there are no one.
No people on the road.
Oh.
I see some trees in Grindelwald.
They are white.
Yeah.
It's very.
It's very cloudy.
Huh?
We have no blue sky today.
But maybe tomorrow.
Huh?
When I hike back.
Two hours.
I'm hopefully able to.
To hike back.
I don't know how my.
My foot is reacting on.
On my first bigger hike.
But you know.
I cannot lie all the times.
On the sofa.
At home.
Yeah.
After four weeks.
I'm 200 kilos more weight.
Yeah.
So.
It's time to train again.
It's always a question.
Between.
Do not too much.
With the food.
Yeah.
But you should train it.
Yeah.
Now we are in Grindelwald.
Not that snowy.
Uh.
Temperature.
One.
Degree.
No.
Wait.
I'm still thinking about.
Taking a cable car.
I don't know.
Maybe I just take a cable car.
And then I hike a little bit.
Around up there.
What do you think?
I don't know.
Need to train.
Dilemma.
A little dilemma.
The fresh air.
And Rasta would love it.
To run around in the snow.
If not for me.
I do it for Rasta.
Yeah.
Almost winter.
But I'm not happy yet.
I want more.
I want more winter.
Yeah.
The streets are OK here.
Huh?
I remember once I was here.
And it was so heavy snowfall.
And the roads were.
Covered with.
20 centimeters of snow.
Yeah.
And then I went.
On one street.
And that was so steep.
I was so scared.
It was so slippery.
So we arrive now.
In Grindelwald.
And we will drive.
Through Grindelwald.
Then we go on the highest point.
You could drive your car.
Yeah.
After the Hotel Wedderhorn.
It is closed.
The road.
Only the post auto.
Is able to drive up to.
Große Scheidegg.
Snowy Grindelwald.
Huh?
Yeah.
Still 1 degree.
I think that the ski.
Slopes.
Are still open.
Until April I guess.
Mid April.
I think.
Mid or end of April.
And then there is mid season.
And but.
I think the cable car.
To Grindelwald.
Is running.
It's running until.
November.
I guess.
All the time.
They have revision.
Between.
November and December.
Yeah.
Then they.
Fix everything.
Yeah.
They control everything.
It's once a year.
All the cable cars.
I think it's once a year.
They have to do.
A revision.
Yeah.
So they control everything.
And the cables.
Yeah.
This is all for security of course.
It's good to know.
Yeah.
Swiss quality.
So here is the cable car.
To Grindelwald first.
Would be.
But I think we do the hike.
Yeah.
It's good.
I hope I have no avalanche risk.
But I think there where I walk.
Is not that dangerous.
In the higher areas.
Where there is steep.
Where there are steep walls.
We have avalanche risk.
Avalanche risk of four.
Five is the biggest.
Ah.
They did the renovation here.
On this house.
Nice.
It's good looking.
Huh.
Yeah.
It's really good looking.
Super.
Well done.
So we go more up.
To winter.
OK.
Yeah.
Now it's really winterly.
Huh.
Yeah.
I should take the cable car.
Oh.
Yeah.
No.
Lazy.
Weeks are over.
Now we need to.
Train.
Again.
Crazy.
So winterly.
And you know.
In two.
Three days.
It's green again.
That's the.
That's the crazy thing.
You could do the same.
The same road.
In a few days.
It's green again.
This is Switzerland.
They're waiting for the bus.
Rasta.
You see the snow.
Oh.
Stress.
Yeah.
Now I have to drive carefully.
Because.
Snow on the road.
You never know.
If it's slippery or icy.
I always drive very careful.
On snowy roads.
Be quiet.
Oh.
Rasta.
Yeah.
Snow.
A lot of snow for you.
Oh.
We love it.
I won't see you anymore in the snow.
Huh.
Wow.
Crazy.
I'm always impressed.
That's why I'm sometimes just quiet.
You know.
When I lived in Winterthur.
Winter is just rain and fog there.
And now where I live.
You drive half an hour.
And then you are in winter.
Crazy nice.
Somewhere here I should hike up.
Yeah.
I need to consult my Swiss Doco app.
To hike.
Otherwise I lose myself somewhere.
Wow.
Oh.
Stormy.
Stormy weather.
I think this is the way up to.
Yeah.
Right.
Yeah.
But now we first go to our parking.
And then.
We hike down the road.
Hike down the road a little bit.
But the good is.
The postal car.
I wait.
So it can go.
Cash hole.
Yeah.
It always advantage for post autogirl.
Always advantage.
You know.
You are not able to park here.
Because this is all private.
For hotels and.
Look.
We have snowy trees.
Rasta.
You will be happy.
Yes.
Why now?
Why not in December?
But.
I take it anyway.
And Rasta takes the snow too.
Rasta.
Snow?
So temperature now is.
Zero degree.
This is our parking.
Yeah.
Where we leave the car.
And.
Yeah.
Then we start our hike.
Do thanks for watching.
I will do another video.
For.
From the hike.
Obviously.
Yes.
And.
So parking is here.
I guess.
So.
Smith's dinner.
I take probably another one.
Which I see.
So.
But.
It doesn't matter.
So.
We take this one.
Yeah.
We are in the parking space.
I am Swiss in these cases.
OK.
Thanks for watching.
And.
Yeah.
We see us in the next video.
Go.
Ciao.
