In a quiet forest, far from any road, stood a cozy little cottage.
It was the home of Papa Bear, Mama Bear, and Baby Bear.
One sunny morning, the Bear family made three bowls of hot porridge.
But the porridge was too hot to eat, so they went for a walk to let it cool.
While they were gone, someone else was walking through the forest.
Her name was Goldilocks, a little girl with golden curls and a big, curious heart.
She saw the cottage and knocked, but no one answered.
So she gently opened the door, stepped inside.
On the table were three bowls of porridge.
Goldilocks tasted the big bowl.
Ouch! Too hot!
She tried the medium bowl.
Too cold!
Then she tasted the little bowl.
Just right!
And she ate it all up.
Next, Goldilocks saw three chairs.
The big one was too hard.
The middle one was too soft.
But the little one?
Just right!
She sat down and crack!
It broke!
Upstairs, Goldilocks found three beds.
She tried the big one.
Too high!
The middle one?
Too low!
But the little bed?
Just right!
So she curled up and fell fast asleep.
Just then, the bear family came home.
Papa Bear looked at his bowl.
Someone's been tasting my porridge, Mama Bear said.
Someone's been tasting my porridge, too!
And Baby Bear cried,
Someone ate all of mine!
They saw the chairs.
Papa Bear growled,
Someone's been sitting in my chair, Mama Bear said.
Someone's been sitting in mine!
And Baby Bear squeaked,
And someone broke mine!
Then they climbed the stairs.
Papa Bear saw his bed.
Someone's been lying here, Mama Bear said.
Me, too!
And Baby Bear gasped,
Someone is still sleeping in my bed!
Goldilocks woke up and saw the bears staring at her.
She jumped up in surprise and said,
I'm sorry!
The bear family didn't growl or frown.
They just smiled kindly.
Goldilocks promised never to enter someone's house without asking.
She waved goodbye
and skipped back through the forest,
feeling wiser and still full of porridge.
And everyone lived happily ever after.
Goldilocks with golden hair
walked right in without a care.
Knock, knock, knock!
No one around, just quiet footsteps on the ground.
Goldilocks so curious, you see,
One, two, three for you and me!
Porridge, chairs, and beds so grand,
Exploring all throughout the land.
Too hot, too cold, too hard, too soft,
Oh, what a busy little lot!
First the porridge, yum, yum, yum!
Too hot, she said, my little thumb!
Then too cold with a little frown,
But the third was just right all around!
Then the chairs, big and tall,
Too hard, she tumbled, tried them all!
Too soft, she sank, oh dear, oh me!
But the third was just right, you agree!
Oh, Goldilocks so curious, you see,
One, two, three for you and me!
Porridge, chairs, and beds so grand,
Exploring all throughout the land.
Too hot, too cold, too hard, too soft,
Oh, what a busy little lot!
Last the beds for sleepy eyes,
Too hard, she groaned, a big surprise!
Too soft, she bounced right off the top,
But the third was just right, then a drop!
The bears came home, who's been here praying?
Papa bear, mama bear, baby bear say!
Goldilocks woke with a jump and a fright,
And ran, ran, ran with all her might!
Oh, Goldilocks so curious, you see,
One, two, three for you and me!
Porridge, chairs, and beds so grand,
Exploring all throughout the land.
Too hot, too cold, too hard, too soft,
Oh, what a busy little lot!
