PORTRAIT | REALISM | GRAPHITE PENCIL | TIME-LAPSE DRAWING

Welcome to my video, this is a revamped version of my first Commissioned Portrait Drawing for dear friends of mine for their 25th Wedding Anniversary.

This original drawing was completed in 2020 with Graphite pencils and became a labour of love with trepidation for portraying my dear friends to the best of my ability. My skills have developed quite a bit since this project and we’re almost approaching their 30th so I may decide to complete another one, which will be fun to compare.

Art Supplies Used:

• A3 Sketchbook
• Graphite Pencils: 2H H B 2B 4B 6B 8B
• Rotring 0.3 & 0.7 mechanical pencils
• Kneadable Eraser
• Tombow Mono Eraser
• Gelly Roll 08

I hope you enjoy the video, and I invite you to leave a comment or get in touch with any questions you may have.

"I'm a self-taught artist passionate about exploring the nuances of realism through drawing. My focus lies in portraiture, figure drawing, and composition.

I primarily work with graphite and charcoal, but I'm also drawn to the expressive qualities of pastels and the versatility of ink. I'm constantly learning and refining my skills, dedicated to pushing my artistic boundaries and bringing my unique vision to life."

"Realism captivates me with its ability to mirror reality with astonishing precision. This meticulous style of drawing demands a deep understanding of light, shadow, and texture, pushing me to explore the nuances of my chosen medium. Each stroke becomes a deliberate act, a testament to the intricate relationship between artist and subject. This process of observation and meticulous execution not only hones my technical skills but also deepens my appreciation for the complexities of the natural world."
