Triplets React to the BARBIE Movie 💖 | First-Time Reaction to the Most Iconic Film of the Year!

Hey everybody, we're Taylor and today we're reacting to the new Barbie movie. Oh my gosh, her shoes. Yes. Oh, she's taking them off. Literally, I can see you wearing those shoes. I'll never forget like she took her shoes off and she's like flat-footed. That like got everybody's attention because I never thought about like a Barbie doll being like always on her tiptoes like a ballerina. I would literally sprain my ankle in those heels but I think this one little clip was such a great reflection of the whole movie because you'll see later she kind of like joins the humans. Everything goes off kilter from here. You're giving stuff away. Be quiet. Forward. She has high heels and she's flat-footed. It just spells it all out for us like we're dumb and I need that. I need this because I am dumb and I love it. Okay, now she's like looking out of her Barbie world. She's just floating down. I saw somewhere where they did this. You can pull out the Barbie just like you do in a dollhouse. You pull out the doll. You don't walk through all the doors. Grab her and put her in her car from her bedroom. It doesn't seem logical but this movie has already made a billion dollars in the box office so these people know what they're doing. I love her floating down because like her dress was like a parachute. Her house was open. I don't know if you call that. And I think she's floating down in your dress. Yes, exactly. Does your dress do that Natalie? Normally that's not a good thing but in Barbie Land if my dress did that it would just come straight up and you would see just everything underneath. Yeah, you don't see her birthday suit. Oh yeah, I love this scene where she's like inviting Ken to her party. It's so funny. She's like it's not going to be overkill or anything. It's just all this amazing stuff about to take place. You know she's like downplaying it because she don't know that Barbie Land is different than the real world. It's like this is a shabam. The boyfriend is playing cool but he's on pins and needles waiting for him to be invited by her and everything revolves around her and her life. And he's just wondering if he's in the packed party schedule. Every night's girls night in Barbie Land. Yes. I never thought about it before but I remember like the movie poster walking in to go see the movie. It says it's Barbie and Ken. It's never Ken or just Barbie. It's kind of fun thought as a girl like to have a guy that like kind of hangs on your every whim and like the whole world you've created is about you. And it's not just any guy. Let's be clear. This is Ryan freaking Gosling. Ryan freaking Gosling is Ken. If Ryan freaking Gosling was my boyfriend I'd be hanging on every one of his words. But in Ryan freaking Gosling is hanging on to every one of Barbie's words. That's the story of this whole thing. Yeah I was like kind of nervous about him playing this attractive. What is wrong with you? No he's super attractive but he's kind of like a sappy romantic. No. In all his movies but he like blew me away in this. He just was the best Ken to me. Wow and he just really captured like the romantic that Ken wants to be romantic but Barbie like really doesn't care that much about even me. I don't want to give away my thoughts on this movie and how I feel about it but Ryan freaking Gosling is Meryl Streep. He has the sad eyes and Ken is sad. There's nothing sad about this man. He's waiting on Barbie for his whole life to move forward. Yeah poor guy. He's Meryl Streep. This clip is kind of like the party that she's referencing that was just so chill. Like this chill party that she just kind of just you know whipped up. She whipped up a party. But it's no big deal and she has a thousand friends who also can dress up and have all these costumes on on hand and they're all available all in one night. Every night. Even the president comes to the party. The supreme court comes to the freaking party. Wouldn't it be nice though if you started dancing and then everybody started doing it? Top. Bottom. Top. We're in Barbie land right now. Look at this. I love how they show like all these like dream houses. Dream houses that she probably had or owned. I love how when you say dream house you do this with your hands. I want to grab the Barbie and put her in the dream house. Come on. They show a lot of the beach. There's the president dancing which is awesome. Okay a lot of the beach is on this movie because of Malibu Barbie is one of the most popular versions of Barbie but you know it's the same thing. They take the party to the beach. Yes and if you've ever been to Malibu it is like the best weather. I mean honestly I don't know if the beaches were like as white as Barbie land but the weather was like just like Barbie land. Okay don't want to give away a spoiler. We can edit this out. John Cena is a mermaid in this movie in the quad or in the beach. He's a merman and he's like a paper merman. Okay it's a paper style paper mache maybe more like claymation version of John Cena merman. He kind of reminds me of Jason Momoa and Aquaman but the paper version if that makes sense on Barbie land. This is a comedy and that was comedy. I remember during the dance she's like this is like around the part she's like y'all she's all of a sudden thinking about dying. They say in the movie like the owner gets sad or something and her like Barbie doll owner getting sad so that's why she's thinking all these negative thoughts so it kind of turns her world upside down. The milk starts getting bad you know just certain things like she starts feeling like she needs to leave and get herself fixed. Let me sum this up in all that drama. Life hits Barbie so life is hitting Barbie just like it's hitting the owner. But it's so funny because Margot Robbie this whole movie has like this painted on smile. I mean it's like frozen. It's like the best Barbie smile ever. It kind of looks like the Harley Quinn smile to me. Yeah but she's like have y'all ever thought about dying? Yeah and she's smiling. Oh yeah this shower clip comes up her water's cold even though I don't think any water ever comes out of the stuff which is so true to Barbie. You know when you're playing with the toys no water actually comes out. There's no plumbing. Oh yeah they show her falling off the roof. That's just sad. This is as her owner begins to deliberate life. She's flat-footed. Yes it's hilarious and she's telling all of her friends about it. They don't even know what that means. They're just like grossed out by flat feet. I have never related with Barbie in my life um but I did enjoy seeing Barbie fall apart. I have to say because I have always felt like this version of Barbie. Never the first version of Barbie. I'm flat-footed. Nothing's ever perfect. I don't ever got it going on. When Barbie started having all this going on that's when I I think the first time in my life in the movie when I was like hmm I can get behind some Barbie. I almost feel offended. They're all like laughing and screaming at the thought of being like us. We're flat-footed. We have cellulite. They get to all that. I mean it's offensive. It is. Not really. This is my favorite part where she goes meets Weird Barbie who is Kate McKinnon which is hilarious. Weird Barbie's been like played with way too much and that's why she's Weird Barbie. Like we all know we've all ripped heads off Barbie dolls. We've all like drawn marker on their face or cut their hair too short. This is Weird Barbie as a real person. Weird Barbie is what happens to you when your mom buys you a Barbie and you're too young. Yeah. You don't know how to take care of things yet so you get your scissors. You cut the Barbie's hair. You paint it with lipstick or paint around the house and you like step on it. You give it to the dog. The dog chews it up. That's what's happened to Weird Barbie. We can all relate with Weird Barbie though. I think we're all a little weird. Okay I feel like this scene sums up the whole entire movie for me. Barbie, do you choose Barbieland which is the high heel stiletto or do you choose a Birkenstock which is real life? I mean they really couldn't have summed it up to me any better than that. So could that have been a Choco or a Croc? I think that's so funny. I bet they had so many meetings about which shoe to choose. My theory is on why they chose the Birkenstock is because they're targeting millennials because millennials grew up with Barbie. Millennials grew up with Birkenstocks as well but if they would have chose Chocos that would have been a little bit I mean younger generation I think. Or Birkenstock paid them. I love her bangs. I know. I know. So she goes to the next world and she's always like in this car with like a rainbow behind her. It's really hilarious. Like to me they captured like transitioning in between the worlds. Part of them traveling to the real world was so incredible. They made it look like paper like old paper set and I saw something that was supposed to be like mimicking old 50s sets or something like that. I mean that was the coolest thing ever. There's a lot of controversy. I guess maybe not controversy is the right word but the skating scene. They had to do it in real life and they were so embarrassed. Scaldy you know skate suits. It went viral. I think they did this on purpose. I think this was the last shot that they did. It's just my theory. I think a lot into things but they did this last shot so it go viral and it'd be free publicity for the movie and I think it worked. Margot Robbie I remember seeing in some articles that she was literally horrified. This was the worst moment of her life. So embarrassing having to do this in real life but it explains the whole movie how odd it was to see Barbie in real life. I do think the embarrassment in her eyes in this movie in that scene was real in second hand or first hand whatever you want to call it embarrassment from that shot. I love their outfits though. Can I just say it? Yes. And then Barbie getting arrested like that's genius and she goes and she like changes clothes because she thinks she's look ridiculous and then so her and Ken get like cowboy attire which is like what Niaga has on right now. So they stick out just as bad. Yeah so they think western world. Western clothes. Yes. Which is hilarious. And I love how they brought in Will Ferrell into this and they're like actually making fun of like Mattel who is also like a part of the movie which is hilarious. So it kind of rides that line of true and fake like they do the whole time which they take pieces of real things and take pieces of fake things and they just blur it all together. Yes and Will Ferrell is like the funniest person alive on this role like they couldn't have picked somebody better besides Jim Carrey may have gave him a run for his money but Will Ferrell was just crazy. It was hilarious. Nicole said that Will Ferrell played in we already know he plays in Elf and Elf was so similar kind of to this movie of like fake and real and they had a lot of like fake and real elements so maybe that's why they thought of him. Okay I love this where they say if you hate Barbie this movie is for you because I've always hated Barbie and I'm not gonna say if I like the movie or not but I have to say they were on point. Yes and you've all seen the car commercial. Y'all just saw a brief clip of that. One of the coolest parts of the whole movie. She jumps in the car and it's kind of like if you put a Barbie in a car it would be straight. She goes straight in the car like literally horizontal into a car like this. It was so funny and genius. Okay one of my favorite scenes was the beach scene when they like attack each other. It's like ninja warrior attack or something. I don't know it's crazy it's like a battlefield. Let me put this in regular terms. The Avengers but Barbie. That's all. No it was like a toy fight. Yeah. I couldn't tell how I felt about the beach scene. I'm not saying it was bad I just something like I've never seen before. Yeah. I don't know are these supposed to be toys fighting? And at this point you know Barbie's left Barbie land so all the Kens took over and made it this like manly place. Kendum. Yeah Kendum. So Ken basically it's Ken land right now and all the Kens are named Ken and they it's all how everything they want their way. They're macho now. Yeah. They have big fur coats. Yeah. They you know say girl get my beer. Yeah. You know that kind of thing. They decorate horses. Everything's a dojo. Everything's tough and macho and Barbie comes back and and Ken's just like he thinks he doesn't need her anymore. He's pretending like he doesn't need her but he really does and he's still desperate. He's still sappy. He tries not to be but he's a softy. I love how he always has his muscle. Trying to show off his muscle the whole time. It's so cute. There he is Mr. Dojo. He looks like Rambo or something or what's that Rocky. Okay Nika tell us what you have to think about the fashion in this movie because you are our fashion expert. Oh my word. I don't know about that. The fashion in this movie. Let's first talk about the hair. The hair is never messed up. Just like Barbie's hair. Remember did her hair throughout the whole movie and kept an eye on it if she like moved her head or something. It was just flawless. Just like when you get a Barbie. It's like this Barbie has curly wavy hair. This Barbie has a braid. She would have bangs one minute. That's how they said they wanted it to seem like you know Barbie can just have perfect hair all the time and it can be all different styles. Fashion wise 10 out of 10. We're finally getting to the fashion point. Tell us if you have a favorite outfit at some point in this. Tell us if you have your favorite outfit. My favorite outfit is the western one. Well I mean duh you're wearing it. I really like the skating outfits. I feel like it was so memorable. I won't forget it. I don't have a favorite outfit in this movie. Barbie's not my thing. I can't say how I feel about the Barbie movie until the end. I like this is going to sound crazy but the opening scene of the movie. I think y'all see it right here. She had like this black and white swimsuit on. Okay Nyka how do you feel about Ken's wardrobe in this? You're our fashion expert so tell us. Ken's a 10. What's the song? I'm just Ken. Yes anywhere else I'd be a 10. You know what we agree Ken. He probably has an 8 or a 12 pack which is incredible and his hair is perfect. His little sad eyes couldn't be cuter. He looks like a little puppy. He has like by two requirements for a guy. Wait there's three requirements. He looks good in a cowboy hat and he looks good in glasses. I haven't seen him in glasses but I'm assuming he does. We'll see. We'll assume he looks good in glasses too. Hello. Okay so who's your favorite Barbie in this movie? There's a lot of different Barbies. I know when we left the movie theater we were talking about President Barbie. Yes. Because she had this energy that was so on point. Everybody likes President Barbie. And she parties all night President Barbie does. And then she you know signs awesome deals during the day. Laws. Yeah Barbie laws. Barbie laws. It's so funny when Ken goes to the real world because he feels so second I guess you would say in Barbie world. He goes to the real world. Any kind of attention he gets it goes to his head. It's hilarious. That's like me. I just love a compliment. Like every time I get complimented I come back home and like y'all this person said this about me or this or that. You know I just soak them up like Ken does. Okay I don't want to spoil anything but he asked for the time. And a lady. This is how crazy Ken is. She gives him the time and he's like people listen to me here. Yeah. That that's where this movie goes. It goes to his head. Someone asking for time. His plastic head. It was so far-fetched. I like didn't even know what they were talking about. I was like she asked for the time that isn't like you know so it was so funny. My favorite outfit was the intro of the whole movie and she had like this black and white bathing suit on. And usually I don't like love whole pieces but I just thought it was like kind of just I don't know it really got my attention and like blew me back. Like this is such a unique swimsuit that I could never pull off and I was like wow she pulls this off. First of all let me cut you off. When you say the unique word that's usually not code for cute. And that bathing suit I feel like it had to have been a historical bathing suit to the first Barbie because there was no point of it being in here. It was butt ugly. I think that was the first Barbie ever made which makes sense why we were in love with it per se. But she looked great in it because it was like 100 years old. But she looked great and I would never want to be on national tv with that angle with that bathing suit on. Ever. Ever. And the curly bangs. Yes. She pulled off those curly bangs. They look like spiral noodles all over her head. She pulled those off. It's like Lucille Ball or something. That's what I was thinking of. You know somebody's a perfect person if they can pull off spiral noodle bangs. A bad haircut and a bad bathing suit. I don't know how they taught Margot Robbie into wearing that. Somehow she still made it work regardless. But um that's all I'll say about it. I love Ken's shirt there. That's like a modern shirt that came back with the stripes. Like tons of guys like wear those. They're like from Urban Outfitters and H&M. They all have that style now. Yeah not every guy could pull that off. And she's always waving. It's like a Barbie doll. It's like super fun. I couldn't help it. Hi Ken. Hi Ken. Hi Ken. And it's with her like frozen face. Frozen smile face. I can't tell if I like his clothes or if it's just Ryan Gosling. I'm confused when he's on the screen because he's you know Ryan freaking Gosling. Yeah. Hi Nicole. Ken was always trying to like stay over at Barbie's house and she didn't know why he wanted to stay over at her house. So that was like super funny and you know he was constantly getting turned down. Actually at the end of the movie I felt so bad for Ken and she even felt bad for Ken. They're faking I felt bad for Ken. His expressions were so perfect. I know. Or is it Ryan Gosling? I don't know. He was like I'm not sure why I want to stay the night. Weird Barbie doing the splits. I know. Everybody's like did the splits with their Barbie doll so that's what she was doing it off of but she her color her expressions her she would talk doing a split which I don't know how they did that. Now that I'm thinking about it I'm like how did they get her to do a split like that? Like did they have like a fake leg or what? It looks like her owner was that Sid guy from Toy Story. The little kid that like destroyed his toys. That looks like who her owner was. It was so horrifyingly perfect. And then she always looked at you like this. Like can you imagine like walking like this? One time I cut my bangs like that. Like right here. That is true. And I was like weird Barbie for a second. Yeah Natalie might have inspired this character. Yeah. There's President Barbie our fearless leader. Yeah. Pajama party with the president. Yeah I think like the Supreme Court's there and everything it's like so crazy if you were hanging out with like presidents and astronauts. In all matching pajamas. Yeah. Well the beach would be perfect for me because I don't want to get my hair wet and the beach was paper. But you'll get sunburned through the beach. No, no, no, no. Not in Barbieland. You don't have to put on sunscreen. You don't have to worry about your hair, humidity. Yeah. I'd be perfect for the beach in Barbieland. You're afraid of the outside. If I could choose between the Barbie high heel or the Birkenstock. Normally before I saw this movie I would have chose the Birkenstock because I want to be comfortable. But because Ryan Gosling is Ken in this movie and if I choose Barbieland and I have to wear a dress every day. High heels to sleep. Earrings to sleep. I will choose all of that and sacrifice all of this for Ryan Gosling. How many times have you said the words Ryan Gosling this whole time? I can't say Gosling. Is it Gosling? Gosling.
