Letitia Wright, globally recognized for her breakout role as Shuri in Marvel’s #BlackPanther, is currently in London filming the highly anticipated #AvengersDoomsday. But while the MCU prepares for its next big chapter, Letitia is unveiling a new side of her artistry: director.

This weekend she will premiere her directorial debut, #HighwayToTheMoon at the #SouthLondonFilmFestival.

The film, a powerful and poignant exploration of knife crime in London, marks a deeply personal project for Letitia who has long been vocal about youth violence and the need for systemic change. The film draws on real-life experiences offering an unflinching look at a pressing issue through a lens of empathy and authenticity.

Balancing her Marvel commitments with the demands of directing has been no small feat. “It’s been an intense but rewarding journey,” Wright said. “Filming Avengers: Doomsday during the day and editing Highway to the Moon at night pushed me creatively in ways I didn’t expect. But telling this story—bringing these voices to light—was something I had to do.”
