Hey, Luxury Home Show My name is John Brevard I'm a designer Welcome to my home here in Ibiza, Spain Come on in So, as I said, I'm a designer And we do everything at a small scale Jewelry to larger scale furniture And even art and sculpture As well as interiors and some architecture And I'll take you to the rest of the house I'll show you around a little bit So, we're in the north of Ibiza Where it's much more about spirituality And connecting with nature And being one with nature So, the idea with the house Was to make it blended with nature Not to impose on it Not to be something that competes with nature But to really disappear and blend in It's a mixture of wabi-sabi With some modern elements Where it carries pieces from my collections From 2007 until today And we're placed on the cliff side Of crystalline rock Which carries with it a lot of energy So, it's a very special experience being here Do you guys want to come outside And take a peek around I'll show you, I'll give you a little tour Come on, Greg, let's go We'll continue the interior tour But I want to show you Where we hang out a lot On the cliff side here It's a lot of fun We have dinners, lunches down here And we also have a very secret cave That I want to show you a little bit later So, one thing I love to do Almost every morning is Take this little secret path down here And go for an ocean swim So, Tom, while you're here That's something we should definitely do Greg, come on Hi Greg Let's go, Greg So, every day when I go for a swim It's kind of like a little meditation hike It's quite the adventure, you know Walking down the cliff side And as you can see There's nobody here except for one boat So, it's very private The birds usually swoop down towards Grey And sometimes they even Get within a few inches of her back And you see Do you capture that You see It's because they have their nests around here And so they see Grey And they think she's a predator Ibiza is a place that's always Attracted artists and musicians And creative types That have just wanted to kind of escape And have a place to create their art Whether it's their music or paintings As well as hippies, of course And other really eclectic people From different walks of life It's a very special magical island With a magnetic frequency That just pulls interesting people in But the myth around the island is that This island can either suck you in Or it spits you out And I've seen it happen to a lot of people Where they come here And maybe they're on the south of the island Where the party scene is And they just get a little crazy But in the north side of the island It's very peaceful, very calm, very serene And a place of a lot of synchronicities So it's quite beautiful and special So down here is where We're going to jump in the ocean It's pretty nice A little bit cool But so refreshing and uplifting To jump in these waters So we're back inside now And all these pieces in here Are inspired by natural organic forms Found in nature Whether they're fractals Or for example this sofa Is really inspired by Forms that you find in nature Root systems And it's meant to connect us All the pieces are meant to Be examples of non-duality The idea that we're fundamentally one Under the surface So the curves of this sofa And the double-sided nature It's about connecting you to different people And different sides of the spaces To really open it up And you'll notice The floors are micro-cement That kind of blend in with the rocks outside And it's all really open to nature It's all about kind of a Wabi-sabi simplicity Mixed with art To really blend it all together with nature So this table is One of four pieces ever made And this is the last one left And it's about man versus nature dualism I have petrified wood here And zinc which is a product of our tectonic era And it's really about the battle Versus humans and nature And how we can reconnect together You'll notice that there's A lot of fractals that you see in our work And my inspiration comes from Our near-death experience at age 14 Where I died And it was the swelling of the brain And the spinal cord And I basically saw these geometries That we find in nature that are called fractals And the recursive geometries That you see almost in everything Like the succulents and the plants outside To a lot of the designs that we do Whether it's jewelry, furniture Art or even architecture So this is some of the jewelry that we design And you'll notice kind of Whether it's cubic geometry Or these more hederal forms They're all really inspired by Whether it's platonic solids or fractals That we find in nature And the artwork around here as well Yep, as well We really want to It's more for us than a design It's more of an experience It's more about bringing people Into another world Almost like a fairy tale That we get to teleport people into When they experience our spaces Or our interiors It's really about connecting people Not just with nature But themselves in a deeper way So welcome to the kitchen As you can see the micro cement Makes it look like it just grows Out of the ground Versus being something That was just placed there And all the wood is recycled And reclaimed And a lot of the cabinetry That we have is actually The original cabinetry That we just cleaned up and reused So for example We have these original Sabina beams That really give an organic feel To the house And you'll see that Throughout a lot of homes in Ibiza Where they use this wood The Sabina beams In their interiors In their architecture And even structurally Because they're quite strong And also have more artifacts And pieces that I collected Throughout my career Or even some That were part of the family That were handed down over generations So just off the kitchen This is a little family area A place to connect, read a book We often have the fire going In the winter time Great place for the family and friends We got the prosperity jar In the southeast corner for feng shui All these little elements matter to us Creating the details that Enhance the flow of energy in the space Welcome to one of the bedrooms So what's really cool about this room Is that, or the space in general Is that each bedroom Whether you're west-facing or east-facing Gets an ocean view Since we're up on a peninsula So all the cabinetry These are solid teak And they're all inspired by The movements of the ocean And what's so beautiful Is that you get to experience that From both sides of the house Which is quite rare And beautiful to experience And this is a little living room With a little boxing area And just a great place to read a book So the restroom is quite simple Just gray micro-cement With a nice view of the garden on this side And when you're taking a shower A beautiful view of the ocean And it's just quite simple Very grounded, wabi-sabi look So I'll show you One of the other bedrooms here This room is right on the cliff side Which gives you Just an unparalleled view And you really feel like you're You could just jump into the ocean Straight from the room Which is really nice And then I have sketches on the wall From my teenage years So it's really Just a history of my journey And experience of the world This chair is very limited edition Part of our parametric collection We have these in galleries in London In the States and in Mexico It's a very special collection Made out of teak wood And the restroom is quite simple Again the mixture of geometries And the fluid Barefoot luxury micro-cement Textured material So you feel almost like You're coming off the beach It all blends together So you feel Whether you're inside or outside It all comes together In a really beautiful and organic way So this is the last bedroom in the house here And then we have more In the boathouses down below These are again some of my sketches My last remaining sketches From my teenage years And all the chairs Obviously the furniture that we design Are pieces throughout the collection And again the millwork Is all custom designed To flow with the ocean And again this is the restroom All of the bathroom Kind of just merges together seamlessly And this one has the best view In my opinion Now that we finished the house I'll show you the guest houses We have one here and over here And a gym on top The garden We planted a lot of olive trees And a lot of native trees As well as fruit bearing trees And we love to spend time Getting fresh veggies for our food It's always really nice And then we have our sauna here As well as the cold plunge up there And then we have a gym on the rooftop Come on over Honestly I use the sauna At least four days a week It's something that gets a lot of use And then a yoga deck Where we have a yoga instructor come over And we even do some muay thai Out here as well Which we might get into a little bit later That's so funny that Andre just arrived When we were talking about muay thai You want to get into it I mentioned muay thai And he shows up That was not scripted Thanks brother Thanks coach Andre for coming over Appreciate you brother So we're going to finish up the tour I'm going to get changed Let's make it happen Just finished the muay thai Showered up And now we're going to head up to the rooftop To check it out So below the gym we have our guest houses Where our friends and family come and stay And let's go look at the roof All right welcome to the rooftop This is a place where we entertain A lot of friends We have micro cement Sculpted table here And the sabina beams Holding this pergola And then we have a rock table here And it's pretty minimal Wabi sabi aesthetic But what's great is that You can see the ocean on the right And on the left You can even see Mallorca on a clear day As well as the lighthouse So it's a beautiful view of the ocean As well as the mountains back behind you So it's really nice Nice energy out here And we've still got the caves to explore right Yep we still have to explore the caves Let's do it Out here is my little meditation spot Right outside the door On top of these crystal rocks out here It's a really nice spot Just to sit down Enjoy the view And take it all in You want to see the cave Yeah you know I want to see the cave Let's go So when I bought this home I discovered that Well we were cleaning up a bunch of old trees and stuff And I saw that there were just rocks stacked up And there was an opening behind them And there was a bunch of old wood It was like a storage for I guess the former owner or something And so we just cleaned it up And put some rugs inside And it's kind of a little meditation spot Yeah it's a very special special place And we have some photos from last night I think And when all the candles are lit It's very vibey I think you'll enjoy it Usually when friends come over We start off down here Hang out, connect End up in the cave And then go up to the tables for dinner
