On the surface, London might appear as a wealthy modern Metropolis of the 21st Century...but its foundations lie over 1900 years ago first established by the Romans as the city of 'Londinium'.
...and whist its true that the city is unrecognisable from its first days 2 millenia ago, traces of its original foundations can still be found in places across the Capital underground - and this production highlights one of the most-important Roman discoveries in London preserved 7m below the city today!

Weclome to the London Mithraeum - this is the preserved Roman Temple under the Bloomberg SPACE that was used to worship the Pagan deity of Mithras around AD 240 - and has very recently been reconstructed in the form of a free museum that you can freely explore some 7 meters below our feet that very few Londoners ever realise!
