[Music] hello welcome to local sim we're going to show you how to activate your travel eSIM on your iPhone when you buy an eSIM from the local sim app you'll be given two options you can either download your plan automatically or choose a QR code if you 're buying for someone else if you choose the QR code you'll need a second device to scan it to make it easier we recommend choosing Download Plan we recommend doing this close to your travel date as your plan will start working as soon as it's activated when it asks you to activate the new eSIM tap allow and then continue on your screen it will appear connecting to the network this part may take a couple of minutes after this when it's finished it will say mobile plan setup complete or cellular plan setup complete then you'll need to select your default line to continue receiving calls and texts on your existing number select your primary line if your plan is s includes calls and texts select your secondary or travel plan once that's done you'll be asked about your iMessage and FaceTime preferences make sure to select Primary to keep them active on your primary line then in the cellular data settings make sure to select secondary allow data usage on your eIM finally make sure that the allow mobile data switching option is disabled perfect almost done now we need to rename your eIM so that it's easy to find then go to settings select mobile service or cellular service and under Sims tap your new e SIM then tap mobile plan label and under custom label change the name of your eIM we recommend calling it local SIM or name it according to the country you are planning on once done go back to secondary and activate the data rooming option And that's it you have installed and activated your new local SIM eIM like a pro
