What ULA&Blue Origin just did humiliated SpaceX after Starship Big Issue...
On June 18th, 2025… boom—SpaceX’s Starship 36 went up in flames.
A catastrophic explosion that shattered more than just hardware—it rocked confidence in Starship’s future, delayed critical missions, and opened the door... for rivals.
With Elon Musk’s most ambitious rocket grounded, the competition isn’t just watching—they're pouncing.
ULA is ramping up launches. Jeff Bezos’s $10 billion Kuiper network is firing on all cylinders. And the once-distant underdogs? They smell blood in the vacuum of space.
While Starship’s delays ripple through SpaceX’s Starlink ambitions… Kuiper is doubling down—leveraging Amazon’s cloud empire, funding launch infrastructure, and promising cheaper terminals to win over the world.
This isn’t just a space race anymore—it’s a corporate war in orbit.
Is SpaceX still untouchable? Or is this the moment Bezos and ULA turn the tide?
Find out the answer in today's Techmap episode!

SpaceX has always embraced a bold philosophy: fail fast, learn faster. The company isn’t afraid to push its rockets to the edge—sometimes literally—to collect invaluable data, even if that means watching one explode. But after the recent fiery destruction of Ship 36, many are starting to ask: has this fearless approach finally gone too far?
Ship 36, designated for what would have been the tenth Starship flight test, met a catastrophic end during a static fire test on June 18, 2025. The likely culprit? A pressurized composite overwrapped pressure vessel (COPV) containing gaseous nitrogen in the nosecone. The resulting explosion not only obliterated the vehicle but also inflicted serious damage on the Massey test site near Starbase, Texas.

This isn’t just another bump in the road. It’s a real blow to SpaceX’s momentum. The mishap has delayed the next Starship launch, originally set for late June, and casts a long shadow over SpaceX’s ambitious plan to complete 25 Starship flights in 2025. But even that’s not the worst part.
NASA is relying on Starship for its Artemis 3 mission—the highly anticipated return of humans to the Moon, scheduled for mid-2027. Any further slip-ups risk derailing that timeline, and NASA is already growing impatient. This isn’t the first time SpaceX has been blamed for holding up the Artemis program, and the pressure is mounting.
What makes things even tougher is the string of back-to-back explosions SpaceX has suffered earlier this year, both in flight and on the ground. Confidence—from customers, partners, and investors alike—is starting to wobble.
