You know, to get a nice, brilliant sound,
there's a way that you can do that with mutes.
You can find the center of the pitch
and get that brilliance of sound
using your mutes that you already have.
So I recommend using a Harmon Mute
or you can use a Straight Mute.
And the reason why I say these two mutes
is because it's very obvious
if you're playing in the center
because this mute will start to shimmer.
But if you're not playing in the center of the pitch,
it's gonna sound really dull
and it's not gonna have that shimmer anymore.
So let me demonstrate that real quick.
A closed oral cavity, closed teeth,
and then I'm gonna open up the sound
with the open oral cavity, open teeth.
If you hear the difference, let me know.
If you find that sweet spot in your Harmon Mute,
you wanna replicate that feeling
and replicate it on your trumpet.
So take the Harmon Mute out
and then play that same way that you just did.
So I recommend you experiment with the Harmon Mute.
That's a bonus tip that I think everyone should know
and try out.
