Mercedes-AMG X F1 ® The Movie - Behind The Scenes

Ambition to me is trying to challenge yourself or do something that hasn't been done before. I wanted to capture the most authentic racing film ever. We worked with Mercedes-AMG throughout the film to ensure the authenticity of the cars we're putting on the screen. Jumping in those cars was definitely the first time that I really felt immersed in the world of F1. These aren't movie cars, these are race cars from the start that we developed with Mercedes-AMG specifically for making this movie. Mercedes-AMG in the world of F1 was an incredible partner working hand in hand with their designers and engineers to find cavities under the radiators where we could place the camera recording equipment. So there was a lot of innovation and the coordination of all that engineering took a year to pull it off. Mercedes-AMG have been fantastic. They were essentially a backroom support for us all the way through the film. Mercedes-AMG created a special edition of their sports car to tie in with the film. I remember the day they brought it on set. I think the whole crew was blown away to see something that felt like one of our Formula One cars for the street. Damson couldn't wait to jump inside and take it for a spin. I had so much fun in that scene driving that car. Right now we're driving a new Mercedes-AMG Apex Edition with my good buddy Samson Kayo. Well we got nine races to catch the eye of another team you know. Speed out of this world. I knew he was gonna say that. The graphics that are on the car are born straight out of what we've done to our cars. This is the smooth. It is sleek. It is beautiful. I love the gold calipers as well. Spoilers at the back. It's an amazing machine and look forward to hopefully spotting a few on the street. The partnership with Mercedes-AMG was invaluable. I don't think anyone's ever made a racing film like this.
