Believing for Healing but Symptoms Are Worse_ Watch This!

Many people have said, I have prayed and prayed, and I've taken a stand for my healing, and instead of getting better, I've gotten worse. Well, today I want to share with you, what do you do when things get worse before they get better? You know, there's nothing new under the sun. There's always been a situation where people have prayed or cried out to God, and things seemingly got worse. You know, we can go all the way back to the children of Israel who were in bondage in Egypt. They were actually slaves for over 400 years, and so God had to get a hold of Moses, who was in the wilderness working for his father-in-law, and he raised him up to be a deliverer, and he sent him back to Egypt to deliver the children of Israel. Now, we're going to look at a scripture today in Exodus chapter 4 and verse 29. It says, Then Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel, and Aaron spoke all the words which the Lord had spoken to Moses. Then he did the signs in the sight of the people, and so the people believed. Notice that these people believed, even though they had been in bondage for over 400 years. Now, that's a long time to be in bondage, and you can imagine that you would have developed some strongholds in your thinking. You probably had a defeated victim mentality, and so hearing good news was probably not a common thing for them. And this man comes along, you know, Moses. He shares with his brother Aaron what the Lord has said and what he's sent him there to do, and they had to convince the people that God was actually speaking. So it's important that we see this here, that the people believed. You know, you can start out believing God for your healing and really believe, but that doesn't necessarily mean that everything is going to just change instantly, as we're going to see as we read along. You know, as a matter of fact, you could actually have been suffering with a sickness or a disease for years, but I want you to know, it's never too late to start believing and to receive your answer. God is good, and He has answers for us today. Now, I want you to see, any time that the Lord gives us a good word and we the devil's not going to just let us alone. He doesn't want anybody believing the Word of God. And you know, the Word is important for us, but the Word alone is not enough. We actually have to add our faith to the Word, and Satan knows this. So his tactic is that he's always trying to get our faith. He'll try to cast doubt, unbelief. He'll try to cast all kinds of And I'll tell you, if you're believing for a healing in your body, and you have symptoms getting worse instead of better, you're going to be tempted to be fearful about that. And what is the purpose of that fear? The purpose of the fear is to destroy your faith and deplete you of it so that you cannot receive your healing. So this is important for us to know, because when we know his strategies, we know how to stand against it better. I want to encourage you today, don't give up. Maybe some of you have been at a threshold where you're ready to give up. Hold on and listen to what I have to say. Now, here's what happened. Pharaoh decided when they came to him, okay, I'll let the people go. No, not hardly. I'm really just kidding. Pharaoh did not, but that would have been the easy way out. Now, when we look at Exodus 5 and verse 6, it says, Now the same day Pharaoh commanded the taskmasters of the people and their officers, saying, You shall no longer give the people straw to make brick as before. And then he said, Let them go and gather straw for themselves, and you shall lay on them the quota of bricks which they had made before. You shall not reduce it, for they are idle. Therefore they cry out, saying, Let us go and sacrifice to our God. Let more work be laid on the men, that they may labor in it, and let them not regard false words. So you see, Pharaoh's intention here, which was really motivated by the devil, was to get the people to not pay attention to the word of God. He wanted to distract them from believing, and so he tried to make their burdens heavier and make their life more miserable. And the people, of course, complained to Moses about that. And then Moses went ahead and he complained to God. And we'll look down at verse 22, and it says, So Moses returned to the Lord and said, Lord, why have you brought trouble on this people? You know, if things get worse instead of better, don't shake your fist at God. He's not the one that's making it worse. It's his word that's beginning to take us out of the bondage that we've been facing and into victory. So we don't want to question the word. And then Moses said, Why is it that you sent me? For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in your name, he has done evil to this people, neither have you delivered your people at all. So even Moses was being tempted to doubt and to fear the outcome of what was going to happen here. Now, you have to understand, the people in this day did not have the written word of God. They didn't have the help that we have today. You know, we have a whole New Testament and really a whole Bible, but the New Testament, particularly for the church, that's full of God's words and God's thoughts. So we don't want to be too critical of the children of Israel. But the Lord continued to give them words of faith and words of assurance. And you can read that if you go back to Exodus for yourself, because we really don't have time to read the whole story today. But it did take some time for Israel to finally be delivered. And if you go back and read the story, you see that not only were their burdens worse, but then the Lord kept bringing plague after plague upon Pharaoh in Egypt to convince him to let the people go. And we know this, Pharaoh was hard-hearted. Do you know, Satan is hard-hearted and he is not one who easily gives up. But I want to encourage you today, you need to outlast the devil in your life. You can actually outlast him because you've got the greater one in you, the great and mighty Holy Spirit, and he's been given to us to accompany us, to strengthen us, to help us, and to put us over in life. And there's no sense in anybody who's got the Holy Spirit living in them, caving into Satan or his lies or his symptoms. Now there's another example in the Bible, and well, let me just finish. The very end of that story was, of course, the people were delivered. It took a while, things got worse, but they were delivered according to the Word of God. Now there's another example in the Bible of things getting worse instead of better as a result of standing on God's Word. In Daniel chapter 3, we had the story of King Nebuchadnezzar, and he built a gold statue, and he commanded the people that every time they heard a particular song playing, that they were to bow down and worship this gold image. Well, the king also had in his kingdom three men that were Jews, and they were heads of provinces, so they were not just mere men. They held a title and a position. And these men so honored God that every time the people of this nation would bow down and worship, they refused to do it. And of course, the people that were working with the king were spying on them, and they knew they probably wouldn't worship the gold image, and so they reported them to the king. And these accusers really falsely accused them. Now, you know, Satan is called the accuser of the brethren. He's always looking for some way to falsely accuse you before God. And even if he says something about you to your mind that has some truth into it or validity, the ultimate end product of it is he's a liar, and so we don't want to You know, in Revelations chapter 12, it calls Satan the accuser of the brethren. And we have to be careful that when we're in situations where the heat is turned up in our lives, that we are not believing those accusations that we're failing. So that's important for you to take note of. Now, the devil's always trying to weaken the saints, or he's trying to remove them from their place of victory or their stance of victory. And it was no different here in Daniel. Let's look at Daniel chapter 3 in verse 13. It says, So when the king found out that they refused to worship, he called them into his presence. He gave them an opportunity, and they still refused to worship. And they pretty much said, God's going to deliver us no matter what you do. Let's look at verse 15. So see, this king was filled with pride. He felt that he had the last word. And the devil's also filled with pride. Pride is what caused him to fall. And so you don't want to let the devil do your counseling or your advising for you. Now, here was their response in verse 17. So they refused to budge. They were bold about it. They knew what they believed, and they spoke what they believed. They spoke their faith. They refused to doubt in the face of these terrible threats. You know, sometimes symptoms are screaming at you, and they're threatening you, saying you're not going to live, you're going to die early, or you're going to end up in a bed, or you're going to end up with a poor quality of life. You're not going to get healed this time. Those are the threats of Satan. And he'll often turn those threats up as you begin to take a Know that there's nothing new under the sun, like I said earlier. You know, the devil doesn't like it when we take a stand up against him. And so as soon as we take our faith stand, he will try to turn the heat up, so to speak. But we're not giving in to the devil. We know the end of this story. Again, these three were not touched by the fire. As a matter of fact, the king looked into the furnace after he ordered to have it heated up three times hotter. And not only were they not in their chains anymore, but there was a fourth man, which we all know was Jesus incarnate. And so he was shocked. And they all came out of that fire and did not even smell like smoke. I mean, they weren't burned, they weren't scorched, and they didn't even smell like smoke. And so God is able to deliver us as long as we refuse to quit standing and believing. So we have to remember, Satan is the father of lies. He's the liar. And if we want to receive our healing, we've got to learn to stand. Now, what are we going to do if things get worse? I'm going to give you four quick points. If things have gotten worse instead of better when you decided to believe for your healing, number one, refuse to fear or doubt. You know, in 2 Timothy 1-7, the Bible says God's not given us the spirit of fear, but we have the spirit of power and of love and a sound, disciplined mind. And since we know that fear is a spirit, we can resist it. We can refuse to have it. So we say, fear, doubt, I refuse to have you in my life in Jesus' name. I command fear and doubt to go from me in the name of Jesus. And then number two, double up on God's medicine. What do I mean by that? I mean, take healing scriptures and don't just read through them and meditate upon them one time a day, but start meditating upon these scriptures two times a day or three times a day. Why? Because faith comes by hearing and faith is also released by saying. So when you're saying those scriptures out of your mouth, you're continuing to stand and release your faith. And, you know, we have some good healing scriptures available as a free download on our website if you're interested in that to help you. Then the third thing is, seek the Lord about any changes that might need to be made. You know, sometimes we set out to stand our ground, but we might need to just make a small adjustment and the Holy Spirit will know what that adjustment is. And if it's necessary, he'll reveal that to us because I want you to know God longs for you to receive your healing and he's not withholding any good thing from you. And then number four, rejoice and praise God continually in the face of those worsening symptoms. You know, I found that when the heat gets turned up, you know, the devil might attack me with symptoms and it seems like it gets worse at times, that if I just start focusing on Jesus, rejoicing in his goodness, begin to call out that he is a faithful healer, a mighty deliverer, and I just keep worshiping him from my heart, now because my focus is on him and I'm magnifying him and not the problem, those symptoms begin to subside and eventually disappear. So I want you to just be encouraged today that because things got worse, it doesn't mean you're failing. God's word always works if we refuse to quit. So I admonish you, stand fast and do not quit in Jesus' name. Now, if you're facing what I've been talking about today, I want to pray with you. Father, I pray for those that have been struggling with symptoms that have lingered or gotten worse. Lord, I know that you are still the God that heals. And so we release our faith and we release the power of God by faith. We thank you, Lord God, for a supernatural strength to stand. We thank you, Lord, for courage to stand in the face of Satan's accusations and threats. And Father, I thank you that even now as we're praying that they're receiving that strength and that courage to continue to go on. And Lord, I thank you that they're following you and they will not quit and healing is manifesting from the top of their heads to the soles of their feet in the mighty name of Jesus. Hallelujah.
