Smart home of the future)

Our first stop for CES 2019 is in Henderson, Nevada.
It's about a 15-minute drive south of Las Vegas,
and we're outside what might look like kind of just any other high-end model home.
But this is the first-ever prototype smart home of the future,
and we are getting the very first look inside.
I'm so excited. Come on.
Oh my god, there's a robot.
Oh, that's so cool.
Hey Google, I'm home.
As soon as you walk in the front door of the KB Home Project, the house wakes up.
So the blinds rise, the lights come on,
and mimic the time of day matching your natural circadian rhythms.
There's tailored temperatures, your wish, it's every command.
Are you serious? The walls move?
Yep, you press a button and change the space.
Literally, the entire wall moves.
This is so cool.
So just off the kitchen, there's a home office,
and then you pull a little lever here.
Check this out.
The wall unfolds all Transformer-like into a bed.
And you know what the most amazing part of this whole thing is?
Watch this.
When we go to fold it back up, this is nothing short of amazing.
Right here, it didn't even spill our water.
Just move the wall back, and it's party central in here.
Of course, there are smart everythings.
Whirlpool kitchen appliances connect to apps that help you cook, even wash your dishes.
There's a smart shower, toilet, vanity mirror.
There are more than 400 connected gadgets in all.
Now one thing you can't see, but it's one of the coolest parts of this whole house,
is the Delos Wellness System.
There are air quality sensors embedded in the walls.
So the second you do something like this,
it starts cleaning up and pumping fresh air in right away.
And then there's this little guy, the Keeker Robot.
He roams the house like a guard dog during the day
and can become a moving movie projector at night.
Okay, Google, I'm going to bed.
Sweet dreams.
Of course, the more connected a home,
the more issues pop up over privacy and security concerns.
We talked to the experts about that in the column that goes with this video at usatoday.com.
I'm Jennifer Jolly, just getting started on all our CES 2019 coverage.
We'll see you back here soon.
