Lydia Fairchild found herself battling hardship after hardship. First, her years-long marriage dissolved right in front of her eyes. Afterward, she struggled to make ends meet on her own. Worse still, she didn’t just have to provide for herself, but her two children also, with another on the way. However, when Fairchild applied for government assistance, they denied her request – all because of a DNA test.

The DNA test didn’t just stop her from receiving financial aid, the results claimed that Fairchild was not her children’s mother! Soon enough, social services tried to take her children away.
