Update on the Dog that Got Hit By a Car (Rosie) & Mom's Birthday!
We wanted to give a little update on Rosie, the pitbull we found injured and abandoned on the side of the road, were you wondering what happened to her? Also, Danielle is officially 35!!!! 🎉
Hey guys, today is our mom's birthday so we woke up early to surprise her
with some decorations. Here's what we have so far. We have 35 because that's the number she's turning.
Don't tell her that we put that in there. Yes, there's a lot of decorations on the table.
We have this giant party hat
that doesn't fit babies. We have a birthday bag. Jude is making our traditional birthday chair.
How's it going Jude? I'm gonna set up some streamers and then after I'm finished I'll
check in with you guys and so you guys can see how it's going. Okay, so we got some streamers up.
I need to be extra quiet because my mom's room is right to the side.
Tyler wasn't reading the directions so now it's not going to pass. So now I'm trying to work on
fixing mom up to the way they're supposed to be and so far it's pretty good I think.
I'm not finished yet.
Can I see it one more time? No.
My dad said where am I and I was so bad so I just put it in the back right there.
Okay, I think this is messed up from whenever Tyler tried but it'll work.
Cassie, what are you doing? Oh my gosh.
Rosie, stop. Oh my gosh, you crazy cat. It made a hole in the...
We have pretty much everything set up. We have some balloons. We have some
I was able to do this one. The next one didn't turn out so good but now well. Jude is weaving this
chair, her birthday chair. I don't think we've actually ever weaved them before.
It's really cool though. We're making mom waffles for breakfast with some
a strawberry blueberry syrupy compote whatever. It's gonna be good, right? It's my first time
making it so I think I'm doing pretty good. I think you did a great job. Pound that.
Make some bread. We got a new bread pan and it just does not cook the same as our other one.
That's because that one was $40, that was $10. There you go, there's a $40 pan versus a $10 pan.
There's your comparison folks. Alright, we got a waffle cooking here in our stand-up waffle iron.
We've had this for a while. We like it. I think we like it at least.
Israel, do you like it? You like waffles?
Boom! Well, I didn't fill it up all the way but it's still good. Look at that waffle looking nice.
And let me know if you want this waffle recipe because this is literally the best waffle recipe
I have ever had and found. It makes your waffles nice and crisp but also light.
It's a Belgian waffle recipe and it's fantastic. This is hot bud, be careful.
What's up guys? Today's mom's birthday. We've decorated. It's all in waffles.
Okay Judy, how do your waffles taste? Good. They look good. Such a delicacy.
Here, check this out. Isn't she a beauty?
How's that? Perfect. I'm going to see how this tastes. It's probably going to taste good.
It's going to be fun.
Out of one, out of five stars, I give it a six.
Very good. Thank you dad.
All right, mommy decided she actually wanted... Oh, I'm going to put butter on it. Dang it.
Thank you. You can't wait to see my present. Dad. Look around. The girls did all this.
No, that's the wrong number. It's supposed to be a two and a five.
A two and a five. A two and a five.
It goes to Danielle Murray.
One of them is Elena's.
That one's from Kyle.
Whoa, look at that.
Yeah.
It was like this.
Yeah, she took the vine out.
What? What did you mess up at the top? I'm dad's hair.
I think that's how I knew who it was.
Oh, I couldn't get your hair.
Was that me? I thought that was me for a second. Is this, this is...
Oh, I forgot you made that, Ty. You made that a while ago.
I made it. I made the date on the back when I finished it.
The date when I finished it's on the back.
Honey.
Whoa, that's so sweet.
I look pretty horrible.
Get the rock out of your mouth.
It's kind of on her knees.
Yeah, spit it out. Spit it out, please.
Five, four, three.
That's mommy's birthday present.
Okay, me, me, me.
Have a boy, they said.
Other side.
Too blessed to be stressed. I know that's right.
The more kids you have, the more stressed you'd be.
But actually, the more blessed you are, so then you're too blessed to be stressed.
That's right.
Oh, we've got a double whammy situation.
Oh, oh, like mother, like daughter.
You give this one to your favorite daughter.
I thought that was...
It's for me.
Oh, no.
She gave it to me and whoops.
What?
It's okay, I know what to do with that.
And to next.
Did you put them together and paint them like this?
Or did you...
Sort of.
You were doing great.
All right, me and Danielle, we got out.
Our friend Casey and Zach are watching all our kids except for Cohen.
And we are gonna spend some time doing a little...
What are you doing?
Are you gonna do a little thrift in here?
And then we're gonna go get some dinner.
Let's do this.
Hey, how's it going?
Look at all these cute shoes, John.
Why are we coming here for our kids' shoes?
I don't know, but don't buy...
You just said don't buy things for your kids on your birthday.
So go look for something for yourself.
Nice.
Childlike faith.
Oh, I didn't even...
I missed that.
That's cute.
All right, we're out of there.
Cohen the bro ain't woke up.
He's ready to hang out and play and talk and kick his feet.
Kick them feet.
All right, check out Uptown Thrift Shop in Statesville if you're around.
Because we all know that thrifting is the newest, coolest thing to do.
Okay.
Telling Danielle whenever I was a kid, when you went to the thrift store, it wasn't cool.
It wasn't a cool experience.
But now it is.
So I would have been...
I still can get over her cute little labels.
I would have been the coolest kid around
if going to the thrift store was cool back when I was a kid.
All right, now on to our next birthday stop, which is Tractor Supply Company.
We gotta finish our vlog for her birthday.
Because we kind of started running out of time.
I just went to Tractor Supply, you know, typical birthday activities.
Picking back up on the day after her birthday.
And she's taking me to the creek.
I don't know why.
I don't know where we're going.
I mean, I know where we're going.
I don't know what we're going here for.
I must have come out here with some kind of energy when Chase started looking at me.
He was ready to take you out.
I'm trying to hurry up before the kids realize that we're leaving.
Do I need my boots?
No, maybe.
If you want the details on my outfit, let me know and I'll...
Send you some links.
Look at all my hands.
It feels kind of freeing though, doesn't it?
It is freeing.
She's like, I'm usually the one that comes running.
Where are you taking me?
Okay, come on.
What did you bring me down here for?
What are those screws in there for?
Did you do that?
No, Tyler was doing this.
She was trying to build...
But look at this.
That ain't gonna work.
That's gonna break.
They fell off of it.
It like fell and that's what one of the boys said.
He fell and then he said, I'm just glad it was me and not one of you girls.
Isn't that sweet?
I was just thinking like you should come down here with your hammer and nails or screw gun
or whatever and teach them.
Like get some two by fours, you know, and build a little like platform from here to there.
Not super high up, but build something here and little ladder.
Just build them a treehouse.
How'd they get the screws in?
They use my drill?
Yeah, they had all the tools down here, John.
Oh my gosh.
But that's what I'm saying.
They're capable.
They just need guidance.
So this is next.
This is next.
Teach them how to use the tools, how to cut wood and how to come down and actually build.
Or you cut the wood, you know, or build it with them.
So if you guys don't remember, I'm sure you do.
We've said it enough times.
Our chickens had not been laying eggs even when it was warm, like even in the fall.
Definitely through the winter.
We're happy to say that today.
Today.
Well, we've worked our way up.
We've worked our way up.
To today.
We've gotten the most eggs.
We've got a long time.
Seven eggs.
One day, seven.
Yeah, we were getting like, we started getting like a couple, maybe two, then three.
Then the last few days were like four to five and then seven today.
We got seven today.
Hopefully we'll get eight tomorrow.
Quack, quack.
Let's go see if we got any more.
Maybe we got eight today.
Let's go see.
To be fair, we, um, a lot of them, a lot of them were chicks.
And, you know, we got chicks last spring, so they weren't even really old enough.
And then it was winter.
So maybe, you know what I mean?
Could be, but we did have some that were definitely mature.
We did have some that were mature.
Out of the way, chicky chicks.
I don't think there's any in there.
Yeah, they're all happy.
But it looks like a chicken's been settling in.
Oh yeah.
Tomorrow.
Oh yeah, if you're wondering about Rosie, she's still here.
She's doing great.
Having a good old time.
She's a little, she's less and less nervous around me and Danielle every day.
Until today.
But watch Adelaine.
That's ridiculous.
You saved her.
I saved her.
We both saved her.
I made John pick her up so we could take her to the vet.
I was terrified.
He got poop on his arm.
Oh yeah.
We took her to the vet.
We paid for her checkup.
Then you guys raised enough money to cover her amputation surgery.
We've been giving her her medicine, helping her recover.
Putting, putting it in cheese and all kinds of yummy things.
Ah, don't do that Israel.
And she loves, she loves the children, but she's still.
Maybe she is harboring some resentment towards us for taking her to the vet.
Where are you going?
Come on.
I gave you peanut butter today.
Come here.
Come on.
Whatever.
I even brought her out a lid covered in peanut butter.
Hey, can you go with Israel for a minute and I'll get you the thing?
We love her anyway.
Honestly, she is so, look at her.
She's sneaking up behind me.
She's so connected to and bonded with Tyler, which is like the sweetest thing.
Come on.
Whatever.
All night though.
But I will say we don't have to worry about our kids when they're outside.
Although a three-legged dog isn't the most intimidating thing.
She definitely watches out for them and barks when there's anything that she thinks is a threat.
Even if it's me and John.
I mean, not an aggressive bark, but like enough to let us know.
This is a week's worth, but this thing was empty for like seven months, six months at least.
So pretty.
Yeah.
It looks like something from like.
Joanna Gaines.
Yeah.
Magazine.
Yeah, like a magazine.
Farming country.
Yeah.
They're real.
They're real edible eggs.
And they came from our chickens.
This is the freshest thing you can find.
Some of them are still warm when we bring them in.
All right.
We got to get back to work.
That was a little like a little intermission in our day to get our wiggles out.
You know, sometimes when your brain starts to feel overwhelmed,
especially if you struggle with like ADHD and you start to feel that like,
I don't know what I'm even doing.
Like, ah, just go outside, take a walk.
Reset.
Refresh.
Come back once you've gotten some movement in and feel better.
