This video gives context to the significance of the GPO in the latter part of the 19th century when Sydney began to be connected to the world through regular post and telegraph. We will explore the incredible architecture and sculptures of the building and discuss how this important structure reshaped the city around it at Martin Place.

The General Post Office building is still standing, although primarily used as a hotel in Sydney today. This presentation offers an opportunity to see a wide range of accurate historical images and encourages visitors to pay attention to details and decorations both inside and out.
