Dale Earnhardt Inc's Secret Weapon of Restrictor Plate Domination: The "Wind Tunnel Engine"
After Dale Earnhardt was killed in 2001, Dale Earnhardt Inc began doing their own R&D testing internally with extreme creativity. Aaron Brown used to work for the R&D program at Dale Earnhardt Inc and managed to reclaim a super unique of early 2000s NASCAR history that he helped create over 20 years ago. This "Wind Tunnel Engine" is powered by a massive electric motor and an F1r ProCharger supercharger. Specially built to draw air through a custom made airflow measurement apparatus for testing cowl pressure and airflow efficiency into the engine during wind tunnel testing. Dale Earnhardt Inc won a TON of restrictor plate races at Daytona and Talladega between 2001 and 2006 and super creative high tech devices such as this one here are a large reason why Dale jr and Michael Waltrip ran so well at the superspeedways. Huge thanks to Aaron Brown at The Garage Shop in Newton North Carolina for sharing his story!
