🌿 7-Minute Virtual Forest Bathing | A Guided Shinrin Yoku Experience for Calm & Clarity 🌿

Take a restorative pause with this gentle 7-minute virtual forest bathing session. Designed to ground you in the present moment, this practice invites you to slow down, engage your senses, and reconnect with the natural world, no matter where you are.

What is Shinrin Yoku?
Shinrin yoku (森林浴), or “forest bathing,” is a Japanese wellness practice that began in the 1980s as a response to rising stress and burnout in urban populations. It means “taking in the forest atmosphere” and involves mindful immersion in nature through all five senses. Over decades, research has shown it can lower cortisol levels, reduce blood pressure, boost immune function, and improve mood and focus.

Use These Gentle Prompts During the Session:
🌱 Begin by finding stillness. Feel the ground beneath you and let your body soften. Notice where you are and allow yourself to simply arrive.

🍃 Take in the visuals. What shapes, colours, and textures are present in the natural scene before you? Let your gaze rest on what draws your attention.

👂 Listen deeply. Allow the sounds of nature—birds, wind, rustling leaves—to come to you. What do you notice when you really listen?

🌸 Imagine the scents. Picture the earthy aroma of damp soil, the sweetness of pine, or the freshness of moss. What scents might linger in this place?

🪵 Feel through your imagination. What would the bark of a tree feel like beneath your fingertips? The smoothness of a stone, or the coolness of forest air on your skin?

🌬️ Breathe with nature. Let your breath slow and deepen. Imagine the trees breathing with you—exchanging life with every inhale and exhale.

🌿 Reflect and return. As the session comes to a close and we approach our path back, notice how you feel. What stayed with you? What might you carry into the rest of your day?

Reminder: Even a virtual forest moment can restore your calm your nervous system and center your mind. I gently encourage you to come back to this space whenever you need a peaceful break or a moment to release stress.

🌿 Why Try Forest Bathing on a Work Break?
In the midst of a busy workday, our minds can become overloaded, pulled in many directions by tasks, meetings, and screens. This short virtual forest bathing session offers a powerful reset. Taking just seven minutes to slow down and reconnect with the rhythms of nature - even virtually - can help regulate your nervous system, reduce mental fatigue, and restore focus.

Whether you're between Zoom calls, on a lunch break, or feeling stuck in a productivity slump, this practice invites you to step out of “doing” mode and into presence. You’ll return to your work more centered, calm, and clear-minded, ready to respond instead of react.

✨ Make nature your ally during the workday. Press play, pause your stress, and realign with clarity.
