Broc Perry, 3rd generation pigeon flyer shows us a behind the scene look on what goes on during feeding time at the 2025 American Grand National
I don't even know 12.
Joke guys, do you think you hear the back footsteps in the hallway?
They don't know.
They'll start running, and then they'll start flying like crazy.
They already know.
These guys, they get smart.
You hear?
I barely sent one whistle out, and they're hungry.
Keep that last bucket, and we'll start with him and work our way back.
You're going to see, I'm going to get swarmed.
Let's be quick.
We've got to be quick, we've got to be quick.
you've got to be careful about their necks.
But, like I said earlier, the feeders are really nice,
because it really helps us tell the droppings,
because the droppings just drop through.
Actually, today has been pretty good.
They're staying out of the feeders.
I think they're learning to stay out of the feeders.
At first, they swarmed like crazy,
but now they're really learning to stay out of my way,
and they get some food.
I mean, not even, all this food would be gone real soon.
They'll clear out all of the feeders.
Hey, boys!
You've got that all measured out already, huh?
Absolutely.
I feed these birds every day, so I do a pretty...
I'll tell you what, I wasn't good at it at first,
but once you do it for about five months straight,
you definitely get used to it.
We will make sure to give the birds that stay out,
they're going to be closed off,
and we're going to put them in their own section.
We'll close all the loft down,
so we know who all the late birds are.
They'll get their own feed,
because, like I said, this feed's going to be gone.
So anybody that comes home late,
they're going to be put in their own section,
and they'll get their own feed probably two hours from now,
because that's about when all those birds are going to come home.
They're still, like I said, it's the third day,
so they're still learning to come home,
but it's nice to see that the birds got the strength,
and they do want to fly.
Nice.
Oh!
He can go wherever he wants.
Go ahead, buddy.
Go out and fly back on through.
You want to come through one of the sections?
Here.
I'm just going to kick him out that way.
Hey, buddy.
Yeah, shut that door right there.
Where's my food? Where's my food? I'm hungry.
Where's my food?
There you go.
Yeah, he wants food.
Go ahead. You can show a video of the feeders.
They're already...
If they don't come in, then they don't eat,
and that's...
They will learn for the next day for sure.
That's how we're keeping these birds coming in.
All right, one last time, Brock.
Any last...
Leave this door open so we get...
Oh, any last words?
Well, I want to say thank you to everybody that's come and helped.
We've had a lot of guys, not just my uncle,
but a lot of you guys have came and helped us.
Without your guys' help, we wouldn't be able to do this.
Your guys' support means the most to us,
and if you guys have any questions, concerns,
please get a hold of me and my father.
We do our best job to keep these birds nice and healthy,
and we hope to see you guys in the AGM this year.
