Has Moni Nikolov had an easier hit at the net?
That's the best set he's seen in a long time.
Big power serve Zimmerman's off the court, so strong was that.
Wurz will try and roll that, but that's not very good.
Oh, what a block, Moni Nikolov.
Wow, monster block, one on one.
You always have to know when Nikolov is in the front row
as a blocker, but also when you want to attack the overpass.
There aren't many blockers, this is regulation.
There's the pass.
Well, it's the recycle of it, and then Moni Nikolov has done that.
Therefore, you've lost the momentum.
I don't know, I don't understand that.
Yeah, all you got to do is side out one time.
Just one good pass, one good attack.
Look for a hofer, perhaps he's been...
And he's done it, it's another ace.
That is why so many people rate him so highly.
That was on the Moni.
Moni Nikolov.
That looks good enough, it's another ace, take that.
This time going line to line, testing the abilities of human reaction time.
Aiming at Sani, just to his right side.
Couldn't reach, but he was there.
Took it well.
Well, Varga had to go with Moni up at the net.
That left Antop all alone.
It did make it easy for him, didn't it, with that set.
It's such a roller coaster in volleyball.
Nice pass.
Again, good take from Nikolov from one side of the court to the other.
Martinez is ready for that one.
Aronski says, Ewinges.
The pep talk is there.
Moni plays it back in court.
Oh, what a point by Bulgaria.
Wow.
Brother to brother.
Watch where, first of all, this dig goes.
But Moni nearly at the stance.
And Alexander delivers it for the point.
And he's still got another chance of an ace.
We mix that up beautifully.
It's all in system.
And here comes Romano.
Doesn't put it away, but the block is ready and waiting.
That's well played by Moni Nikolov.
And I'm wondering what they're going to say.
Reached over.
What do you reckon?
Yeah, you might as well give it a shot.
Really quick to.
Oh, it's off the touch, not the net.
Brilliant work by Curry.
But a real chance here for Bulgaria.
Free ball.
But Canada still in this.
But maybe not for much longer because that is classic.
Moni Nikolov.
Just an eye for the opening, which others don't seem to have.
He's only 18 years old.
Well, this over ball to the short play sets that up really well for Moni.
Two aces.
Martinez.
Luengas.
Great block.
A big block, a big hold.
Look at the eyes though from Nikolov after he gets this block point.
He's been stressing for it all match long.
And he finally gets his hands into that high end.
Into the net.
Good serve.
It's over.
Oh, that's going to come straight back down.
And quick as a flash.
That's he'll love that.
A was a serve which is in play.
It was so powerful.
It came straight back over and they took advantage.
They sure did.
A little bit unlucky on the first one, but.
Now there's a bit more spring in the Bulgarian step.
Yeung keeps it in play.
Petr can't get through.
Georgiev.
And Petkov.
Down it goes.
Good move here.
The left hand of Moni.
Gets the block.
It's been quiet.
We haven't seen too much of Khajurov.
Hey, Simone, see what I can do.
Sneaky, sneaky by Moni there.
The six foot ten, 18 year old.
Takes that ball well over the top of the net.
Bloch got a hand there to Nikolov.
Breuer's trying to get through, but.
The Bulgarian block is there.
Double block once more.
And a brilliant block too.
They're moving so fast.
They're moving quickly across the net.
But then their hands are closing off the seams.
That's a great move by Moni.
Shutting down.
30 years old.
Being around Europe as well.
Greece, Egypt, Romania.
Big experience that Plengini can call on.
That's going to come straight back over.
Juggled by.
Antoff wanted to take that with any interference from his setter.
Germany recycling.
And here comes Juhn.
Dug by Antoff, but.
Oh, what a great block.
My word, that was good.
Nikolov and Petkov together.
Strong hands this time.
Much better blocking move.
He pushes over the net.
Scores the block point.
The ball is contacted if his hands are up.
Well, that's an early one.
Out of nowhere, the big left hand of Moni Nikolov comes up.
And throws this one down quickly.
Right in front of.
That's a better pass.
Good finish.
Good finish through the middle.
But the pass is there.
Bulgaria's got to utilize it.
Going for power again.
Nikolov has a look.
And that's good play.
Tatarov.
But they've got to make up five points.
He's into the 20 point mark.
He carries on unless he gets 30.
Oh, yes.
Well worked.
That'll work for Bulgaria.
Opportunities to go through the middle.
Slater almost going back to back points.
Just off his hands and out of bounds from the block though.
So number 99, Skalovaga stayed out there.
Tamasov is on four.
And they shut down Bulgaria.
Take this second set.
They'll go again.
Recycle.
Chance now for Antov.
And he does not miss.
Seems to know where the block is without even looking at it.
Unfortunate attack there by Hofer.
Getting deflected and slowed down.
But they're just going high.
Skimming the net.
It's a scramble for Varga.
He's quick, but he's not that quick.
Good tempo set.
Decent touch on the block by Slater.
But just out of the reach.
Mixing it up.
That was particularly well taken.
But in the end, Antov knew where to go to.
And just delivered.
And he needed to.
Big swing from Antov.
He's been quiet recently.
It's a scramble for Curry.
But a chance for Varga.
So Moni Nikolov looking for options.
Goes to his brother.
And he obliges as he did so expertly against Germany last night.
I don't think he missed any really.
