Hey guys and welcome back to my channel. So you might notice that my hair is pretty straight,
pretty sleek at the moment. But I asked you guys over on my Instagram if you wanted an
updated hair routine video because a lot of you have been noticing that I have been doing my
wavy textured hair differently lately. And you guys were crazy for a video just about that. So
that is what I'm here to share with you today. This routine is super quick and easy and of
course depending on what kind of hair you have naturally it lasts all day. It does for me anyway.
I have pretty thick and textured hair naturally so I think that's kind of why my waves always
tend to last all day. I do also have a few products that I'd like to share with you but
I like to keep it as unfancy and natural as possible. So I don't have a lot to share with
you. I don't have any magic tricks or anything like that. But I do have some things that I like
to do. So of course I will run over these products as we go and as we get on with the video. And then
I do also have some final things that I'd like to share with you by the end of this video. So I've
actually decided to go on and put on a timer because I want to see just how fast this is. I
have no idea but I am pretty sure that it's less than 10 minutes. On a busy everyday life I don't
want to spend too long in the bathroom. I do want that me time and that alone time that I have in
the morning. And I enjoy the process of getting myself ready, making myself looking all pretty.
But it shouldn't take too long. It shouldn't be something that I feel is too high maintenance
throughout the day either. So yeah let's put on the timer and let's get going. Oh before I start
the timer I should just say that my hair is not clean. I only wash my hair two to three times
a week even though I work out three to four times as well. So to some people that might seem
disgusting. It doesn't to me at all. Sometimes I just rinse my hair with water if I've been sweating
a lot. And that is the case. Yesterday I was working out and then I just rinsed my hair with
water. I applied a bit of oil to the length just to condition my hair a bit. And then what I'm
gonna do now is apply a bit of homemade dry shampoo which is just natural cornstarch. It is
cheap, it's natural and it really works. I know a lot of you have already tried it and yeah I know
that you guys really like that trick as well. So that's what I'm gonna do first. Apply that to the
roots and also to give my hair a bit of volume and extra texture. So one two three go. So you can see
now that it's counting and I'm gonna put it down and then we'll see how long this actually takes.
So I'm just gonna quickly brush my hair first. And as you can see I have rather straight hair
naturally. I do have some natural curls but mostly in the back. I'm just gonna apply that cornstarch
oops to my roots and that will work as a natural dry shampoo and also
give my hair some volume. And I'm mainly focusing it here where I have the parting.
I'm gonna let these front sections right here. I'm just gonna work that into my hair.
If you have dark hair you might want to add a bit of raw cocoa to the cornstarch just so that you
don't get any white overcast. And then I actually like to keep my parting just you know like it
falls naturally because I like that kind of undone look that it gives my hair. So it doesn't matter
that it's not completely straight. That works fine for me. Next I'm just gonna part my hair
just right above my ears like this. And then what I'm gonna do is take a straightening iron. I don't
even know what this is called. It's from Remington. I'll link something similar down below. But it
is called sleek and curl or something like that. So it's meant to both make your hair sleek but also
to give it a few curls. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna take a few random sections of hair. I'm
not gonna curl all of it. I never do that. I just do it kind of randomly to make it look as natural
as possible. So what I'm gonna do is that I'm gonna bend these random sections away from my face.
So I'm just gonna show you because the time is ticking. Start up here and then just bend it
halfway like that. Pull it downwards. Not all the way. I'm gonna keep the the ends right here
straight. And then as you can see it looks kind of funny. So if it looks like this I like to just
give it a bend like that. I hope that makes sense. So that's actually how I'm gonna proceed
in the rest of my hair. Just make a half turn like this. Pull out the straightening iron and
then let go just before I hit the ends of my hair and then give it a small bend. Just so that
everything kind of points towards my face. As you can see here this kind of points outwards and I
like to point it towards my face because I feel like that kind of frames my face really nice. So
yeah that is how I'm gonna proceed. It's not something that takes a long time. I'm just gonna
proceed to the other side. And as you can also see I'm just taking it really quickly through the hair
because again I don't want to spend too long doing this. I want it to be super quick but I
really want to add just a bit of texture to my hair so that it's not completely straight as it is
when I wake up in the morning. And then I'm just gonna give it a little bit of hairspray.
This is just one from a local drugstore without any perfume. I can't stand those really
um fragranced hairsprays. You might remember that I actually used to make my own
hairspray but I've kind of moved a little bit away from that because I ran out and I didn't
think that the recipe was perfect. So I kind of have to see if I can develop that somehow.
So I'm just gonna part my hair again.
You have to be careful not to twist the curling or the straightening iron too much because then
you'll end up with like these really really curled sections and we don't want that. We just
want that slight bend and movement to the hair. So if I twist it even further than this it will
curl those sections even more and like I just said that's not the look that I'm going for. I'm just
going for something wavy. Proceed with the rest of my hair and for the front sections here.
I feel like the front sections are kind of the important part of this hairdo because that is what
ultimately frames your face. So I try to not overdo these sections because I don't want them to look
too curly. So I like to give it a bend up here first and then move down the strand. Oops it's
hard when I'm looking at the mirror. And then give it a slight bend down here as well. So it just
gives kind of a wave, natural wave to the hair. I'm sweating by the way. We've had like
yesterday it was nearly 32 degrees here in Denmark so pretty darn hot right now. I don't know what's
going on. That's definitely not normal for a European summer in the north anyway. It's crazy.
I'm of course enjoying it but it's getting a little bit too hot. I mean we almost can't sleep
at night at the moment so it's kind of crazy. I think that is pretty good so I'm just gonna
finish up with a bit of hairspray once more.
Stop! Bam! 10 minutes and 36 seconds. That's all it took. I think that is pretty quick. That is
pretty quick to me anyway. I know that many people spend way less than 10 minutes but when you have
long hair and when you like to spend some time making yourself look pretty that's not bad at all
to me. So this is how the hair looks. Of course I can't see it from the back at the moment but I
hope it looks okay. So once my hair is cooled down I like to run my fingers through the hair
and then sometimes I like to apply just a bit of texture wax. This one is actually one that I've
had for years. It's probably expired. I don't know if it has but anyway I still use it because I
still have something left and I use the tiniest amount. This is from Paul Mitchell and it's called
flexible style. I know that this wax is still on the market and it's pretty good especially
for that textured wavy kind of hair that I always rub. And then sometimes I even like to use just
some of my husband's wax. It doesn't really matter as long as you don't apply too much of it. So it's
just to kind of you know give it that extra texture. In fact I'll apply a bit right now just to show you
a tiny amount like this. What I like to do is kind of rub it
between my fingers like this. So I just have it at the tip of my fingers and then I like to kind
of just work it in like this. So it adds a little bit of volume but it also adds more texture and
gives that more beachy look to the hair. So that's basically what I do when it comes to styling my
hair. So I use that hairspray just to give it some hold. Sometimes if I don't rinse my hair or if I
don't wash it for a few days it actually lasts even though I sleep and it gets kind of straight
again. But because I use a bit of hairspray just a little bit makes it kind of easier to refresh
the day after but it also makes the curls kind of stay in my hair for longer. So I really really like
this look at the moment and I like the fact that I can like tuck it behind my ears like this and
then when I loosen it it is still wavy. So I actually find that this way of doing my hair
lasts longer than when I do it with a curling iron. I don't know if it's because with the
straightening iron you kind of warm up more of the hair than with the curling iron. I don't know,
I'm getting all technical here. I don't really know why but I feel like this really lasts all
throughout the day. I recently went to a festival where I did my hair like that and we started early
in the morning and I came home late at night and my hair was still looking epic when I came home. So
I like the fact that you don't get those really polished curls. Sometimes that can get a little
bit too nice looking for me if you know what I mean. So I definitely like when it just looks
more natural and also you can throw around your hair like you want. You don't have to worry too
much about messing it up. Also if you're like laying down throughout the day, if you're laying
on the couch or anything, you don't have to worry too much about your hair getting flat or ruining
those curls. So that's what I'm all about. I love that low maintenance hair that you don't have to
worry too much about throughout the day either. So yeah, this is definitely my go-to hairstyle at
the moment. Then for my kind of general hair routine, I don't know if you guys know but I like
to use the Naked shampoo bars from Lush at the moment. I actually just ordered a few more this
morning because I ran out. So I ordered a bunch of their package-free goods because I like to order
so that I have for like six months or something like that. So my favorite shampoo bar from Lush
is definitely the Honey I Washed My Hair or the Argan Oil shampoo bar because that is kind of
gentle on the scalp as well and I kind of have tend to have a dry scalp especially during summer
when I get kind of sunburned here in the parting. So that's basically all that I use in the shower.
I actually also ordered a conditioner bar, a solid conditioner bar because again that comes
without packaging and I really like that so that I can skip some of all those plastic bottles.
So I'm gonna try that, see how that works out but other than that I usually just wash my hair
with the shampoo bar and then I like to apply a bit of natural oil. I've shown this countless times
and here before this is from the Danish brand called Meraki. This is an organic oil and I use
this all over my body. I use it as a body scrub with coffee grounds as well and I use it for
removing makeup and then also to apply just at the ends of my hair. Just very little at the ends of
my hair when I get out of the shower because that conditions my hair and it also works as a heat
protecting kind of oil. I am sweating. So one final thing I like to do before I run out the door
is actually to spritz a little bit of perfume in my hair. I don't know why, I think I saw that in
Sex and the City once. Anyway I really like the way that my hair smells when I put fragrance, just
a bit of fragrance in my hair. So I like to just spritz a little bit like so maybe even like this.
I know it's maybe a bit weird but it kind of works. I feel like the fragrance lasts longer.
The perfume that I'm using at the moment is actually one that I was so kindly sent by a
brand called Skylar not so long ago. Skylar, Skyla? But it is called Capri and it's just delicious. It
is so fresh and sweet and the cool thing about this brand is that they make hyper allergenic
fragrances that are cruelty free and it comes in this cute packaging as well which I just
adore. The scent is just really zesty and sweet at the same time which is just something that I
absolutely love. Nothing heavy or anything so it's perfect for summer. Something that I'm using at the
moment, I'm really also enjoying the perfumes from Clean. I've been using those for years especially
the one called Lovegrass. It's one of my absolute favorites. Also a bit zesty and fresh but sweet
at the same time. So yeah that's it guys. That's how I like to do my hair and I'm sweating right
here. Oh I think I need to finish up this video. Wow I didn't realize. Okay I'm gonna take my sweaty
body, move outside, get some water, something with ice maybe, finish up this video. I really hope you
guys enjoyed watching and I hope it was easy understandable. If you have any questions let me
know. Just write them in the comments down below and yeah let me know if you're gonna try out this
hair routine. This is how I like to do my natural wavy hair at the moment anyway. So thank you guys
so much for watching. I really hope you enjoyed it and I will see you all in the next one. Bye guys!
