IT'S ADOPTION DAY!!! - We're So Happy - Emotional

This is going to make me cry. Tomorrow's adoption day! How are you feeling? Nervous but excited. Nervous but excited? Aww. It is so beautiful. I love it. You're going to look like a princess. I'm going to lay it right here. It's perfect. When I lay it down I can see it. We're going to do a special breakfast in the morning. What do you want for breakfast? Bacon and eggs. Anything in the world? Bacon and eggs? Okay, we'll make it happen. That's my favorite breakfast. And I keep a cookie for you in the morning. For adoption day! Woohoo! I am so excited for today. I can't begin to describe the feeling of so when you have a foster child there's always this chance that something will happen or a certain family member or I don't know. There's always these feelings of like you know it's your child and you love them like they're your own and you just have this but I feel like adoption day is just like that breath of fresh air that like it's official official. And as I was waking up this morning I was just thinking about all my different favorite things about Evie and I have so so many but I have to say one of my favorites is her heart. Like she has the most incredible heart you will ever know in somebody. She is so caring. She's always willing to help. And if she sees anybody hurt or struggle in any kind of way, she's the first one there like how can I help? What can I get you? You know and she just cares for every single person and she does that for anyone even if it's a stranger on the street. She's like let's help them. She may even follow in Bella's footstep and go into like the medical field or some kind of field where you just help other people or you can see her having like a foundation where she can help homeless people or just I don't know. I just anything that she's helping others is where she's going to be so I'm so so excited for today but it's early. We're getting ready still and I'm going to put together a special adoption basket just for Evie. First things first we have a little purse that she can bring to the courthouse for the adoption and to go into that purse her favorite candy. She loves gummy worms. We also got some pushpops. Courthouses can be really scary for kids or it can feel really intimidating and they can feel really nervous inside especially if they were allowed to go to different court during like their case of foster care. Sometimes with older teens they'll let them go to the court and so they know what's going on and then sometimes they won't. It just depends on the case but a lot of times that courthouse is just scary so I'm hoping by packing a little purse for her to do. Sometimes they can get boring like if you're waiting and waiting for your case to be called so we have some different snacks for her for that too. Bows or a new headband because we didn't know which one she would want to wear. I think Evie and dad have already started breakfast so I'm going to go breakfast with them and see where they're at. I almost forgot her adoption t-shirt. So we did end up doing we found our missing piece and then it has her name on it and the date because we were going back and forth between all these different adoption things and we just kept going back to the missing piece and then Evie had walked in the room and she was like we found our missing piece. She's like that's what I want on my shirt and I'm like okay it's your adoption day we can put whatever you want on the shirt so that's ended up and it was kind of sweet because that's kind of the theme that we did when we adopted Ariana so it's like and she was our very very first adoption so it's like our first adoption you were adopted too. So it was like our first adoption and then might be our last we don't know. Today is such a special day I get a forever daughter I'm so happy to be your daughter mom Oh I'm so happy you're my daughter Happy Adoption Day Thank you guys I love you Happy Adoption Day That's so cute It has my favorite candies in it in general. It does I love it Just we found our missing piece and we found it May 6, 2021 It was bussing bussing bussing bussing in my language is really yummy Happy Adoption Day I tried so hard to make today perfect and I made 20 t-shirts all before because I'm like okay and we made these like a week ago so I was prepared and then Alex came to find we have probably four or five kids that are medium like adult mediums and I got youth medium All of them are in youth sizes even the large But you know the tag on it did say adult. I thought it did So you are right about that And I grabbed it out of the adult section I swear If anything it will be a little tight and it will make your horses look bigger I love it Oh jeez Originally we were going to wear our adoption shirts to the courthouse and like all coordinate matches to be so cute But then as we were thinking about it we were like no let's wear like dress clothes to the court but this morning some of the kids were like but we really want to wear our adoption shirts and they're white and Arwin's dress is white and so is Aurora's and so they all coordinate so I told them they can dress up they can wear their adoption shirts whatever they feel comfortable with so you'll see some in a little bit of both I'm so happy for today Let's close your eyes Eyes are closed You look beautiful You look adorable sweetie Congratulations Thank you Mark's here. Hi Mark We still are waiting on Jake and Luke and we're running a little bit late so we're gonna go and they're gonna have to meet us there I hope they leave on time Getting this many kids out of the house this morning was really really difficult and Alex was in the shower I couldn't find him but he's on his way and I'm hoping they all can make it Yay! Tried to block it out so I forget Your persistence Kept on pushing through The day I knew I needed you I was complicated You made perfect sense I was slowly breaking But you knew It's official! So every judge in the courthouse works a little bit differently and some allow a lot of recording and some are like the St. John's when they're like you can record everything we got another judge to let us record everything the judge in particular today didn't want a lot of it recorded but we did take some amazing pictures but there was a really really sweet moment, it wasn't captured on camera but it will be forever in my memories and it was right when they said the adoption is final and Evie I kind of want to call her Arwen we're getting used to it still but Evie was like it's final! and then she just wrapped her arms around both of us and just sat there and hugged us and it was just like it was just us in that courtroom I don't know it just felt like this incredible incredible moment and just To see the smile on your face it just melts my heart Evie's absolute favorite thing is ice cream like if we ever have ice cream in the house she's constantly can I have some ice cream she would eat it for breakfast lunch and dinner and snacks in between if she could so what a perfect fit but to do an ice cream party so the crazy middles are on their way right now we have Grandpa John here, Grandma's here yeah let's go party and let's celebrate oh and then we're doing adoption pictures in a little bit we're going to do like big family pictures with all of our shirts and that should be really fun hopefully they don't get ice cream on them I'm going to have the kids change I would have them change we're home and we're about to, well Lucas is about to start making my cookie brownies okay guys so Hannah and I are heading to Pandora to get Evie the like a birthday oh not a birthday she has like an engraved necklace that says like the date of her adoption and then her name and then Petit Evie Petit so she has just like a little thing to remember so we just got here and we're going to go in and then after we're done with this we have to go to Michael's to get more shirts for the adoption thing because we ran out of sizes so these are like what the charms look like so this is the puzzle piece one and this is the heart one I like this cute stack right? I like it, like it'll be like that that's cute, yeah I like that we ended up going to Hobby Lobby instead of Michael's so here are all the shirts we're just going to grab these and then we'll be on our way back home so it is time for an ice cream party how much ice cream do you need? are you at your limit? nope this used to be Alex's favorite favorite ice cream he said it's not anymore but he used to be like if a girl would buy me this I'd marry her I don't know if any girl ever bought him it because he's not married I'm going to ask him about that and dairy free ice cream let's go don't drop it no no no I got it you got it? I keep grabbing stuff make sure you shut the freezer oh yeah don't pull a Lucas oh it's getting a little wobbly he made it is it still true Alex? no you don't like it anymore? that if a girl bought you ice cream you'd marry her not that one anymore wait what kind is it now? cookies and cream bro that's the only right answer ice cream what is this? what is that? Jake doesn't know it looks like someone pulled something off of something okay we are all ready to do some family pictures I'm just trying to gather everybody what are you doing up there? oh okay makes sense what are you doing? making weird faces at her what is that? that looks scary it's a strawberry lemonade the hardening chocolate drink it try it so here's our shirts they turned out so good you guys look so cute you did an amazing job I could not have done it without you I'm so thankful for you work it Halle show me the picture perfect thanks I'm practicing I can't change the tears and the shame we have so much to gain if our hearts beat for the here and the now we'll make it somehow oh what do you say look up to the sky and see the light feel the air in your lungs it'll be alright the path that you take means you're in the right place wow thank you guys for coming I'm so sorry why are you saying bye to me? I'm going to their house she's going to go swimming and hang out have fun love you before this adoption day is over I have one last surprise so we were originally wanting to do an adoption trip or something but it ended up being on Monday the kids have school when we did Liam, Bella and Rylan's it fell right in the middle of spring break and it was perfect and it was virtual hers was in person so it was a little bit done differently but you guys all know you saw a couple videos back what her dream is and I have that and I have a special special necklace for her so let's go do the surprise what is your favorite color? pink pink and purple what is your favorite Disney character?
