Come spend a rainy day with me in my dream cottage café—baking cosy recipes, sharing quiet stories, and daydreaming with the sound of the rain.
It's been raining all week, the perfect weather to finally open the doors of my dream cafe.
Well, it's not a real cafe, but today I am pretending it is, just for me and for you,
where the scent of pie drifted out from under the door and gingham tablecloths embellished
the mismatched tables, where people step in from the cold or the rain and are greeted not
just with the scent of fresh pastries and herbal teas, but with a sense of being taken care of.
In this imagined place, time slows down. I'd serve food prepared with love,
but also host seasonal markets, cultural events and offer my humble handmade creations.
It's the kind of dream that might only ever exist in the corners of my notebooks and
pages of my stories. As I was saying, the tables are mismatched, but loved, each with a tiny vase
of flowers and a flickering candle. There is a bookshelf near the window, always clean and full
of seasonal products and handmade gifts. Vintage teacups collected over the years
would feel a quaint wooden cupboard behind the counter. Sometimes when I imagine this cafe,
I picture the people who would come in, busy souls who finally allow themselves to slow down
for one warm cup, elderly women who wear brooches and tell stories that you want to write down.
Some of these imagined visitors have been found their way into the stories I've written,
and I feel I know them very well, where they would sit, where they would order.
But before I take you further into this daydream, let me take a moment to share about today's
sponsor and an inspiring character, the kind of woman I can't imagine walking through the
door of my dream cafe, June Parker, from the beautifully illustrated mystery game
June's Journey. It's 1927. Tonight's story takes us to Orchid Island. June Parker has
left London behind, returning to her childhood home to resolve a family mystery. June's Journey
is a beautiful hidden object mystery game that whisks you away to the glamorous 1920s.
You follow June Parker, a clever and courageous woman on a quest to solve her sister's murder
and uncover long-buried family secrets. Each chapter is like stepping into a scene from a
vintage novel, filled with everything we love, vintage decoration and outfits, elegant interiors,
mysterious letters, intriguing characters, and the possibility to decorate the gardens
of the island. And the best part for me is that there are a lot of seasonal items.
It's still a little early for me, but I caught a glimpse of some autumnal decorations while
choosing flowers, and I can't wait to put leaves and a cozy garden shed on my island this autumn.
Playing June's Journey makes you feel part of a story, and you can download it and play it for
free, immersing yourself in the satisfying hidden object puzzles, slowing down, paying attention,
and discovering all the vintage items. The game combines storytelling, stunning visuals,
and a touch of vintage glamour, and I love how it reminds me of the kind of stories and characters
I like to tell here. June is the kind of guest I imagine visiting my drink cafe on a quiet afternoon,
a smart, friendly, and stubborn woman who notices the little things, listens closely,
asks thoughtful questions, and isn't afraid to search for the truth. And I think you will love
the atmosphere, the vintage dresses, the art deco interiors, the unfolding mystery, and of course,
to decorate your own island state, host little events, or join a club to share the experience
with others, and my favourite, the hidden object puzzles. It is available on all iOS and Android
mobile devices, as well as on the PC. You can download it for free from the link in the description,
or by scanning the QR code here on screen. Thank you so much to June's Journey for sponsoring
today's video, and for creating a game that fits into the kind of cozy, thoughtful world
I always try to build here. Now, where were we? Oh yes, my drink cafe. The rain still tapping gently
at the windows, and the air smells faintly of freshly baked goods. I've lit a few candles,
opened the windows just a little to let in the breeze, set the kettle on the stove, and tied my
favourite apron around my waist. As I prepare the table, I imagine you walking in from the rain,
shaking off your umbrella, and smiling at the delicious scent in the air.
In my dreams, this little cafe would be tucked away in a village between cobblestones and ivy,
with cute curtains in the windows, and an iron sign dancing softly with the wind.
The kind of place where the door always creaks a little when you open it,
and the bell above it has a gentle familiar chime. People wouldn't come just for tea,
they come for a moment of stillness, of wonder, for a smile, for a conversation that lingers long
after the cups are empty. I imagine evenings when the lights are dim, and the chairs are
rearranged for poetry nights. Local musicians might play soft folk melodies, and voices rise
to share stories and songs. Sometimes I'd host seasonal markets and little workshops with
flower-dusted hands, and jam-making in summer and candle-making in autumn. A tiny book club
where conversations drift far from the plot into dreams and memories. The menu would change with
the seasons. Autumn would bring spiced drinks, apple and mushroom pies. Winter, perhaps dark
chocolate and gingerbread cookies. Spring would awaken the appetite for carrot cake and floral
teas. And in summer I'd bake fruit pies and citrus treats, and offer cups of iced herbal tea
set the table with a carrot, every time I light a candle or bake something from scratch, it feels
like a tiny piece of that dream is coming to life. I am not sure why the idea of a cafe resonates
with me so much. I've always loved making people feel welcomed and appreciated through food,
through small details and gestures. I've been told I'm a maternal soul, and it might be true.
I feel most like myself when I'm creating something for others, something warm, kind,
and full of meaning. And so maybe this channel, the packages I wrap with all my love, the stories
I write, the worlds I create, maybe this is my cafe. A quiet place on the internet where you are
always welcome. My way of offering you a moment of stillness, a quiet friend to sit beside you
while you wrap your hands around a cup of tea. And maybe in another life this little cafe already
exists, somewhere between memory and imagination. And now I'm curious, if you could open your own
little place, a cafe, a shop, a studio, what would it be? Tell me in the comments, I would love to read
about your dream and maybe even imagine it with you. Maybe we will find we are not alone in our
dreaming. And if you ever feel alone, know that this channel is the little cafe always open for you.
And just before we close the doors of our little cafe for today,
don't forget you can step into June's world by downloading June's Journey
through the link below or by scanning the QR code on the screen.
Detectives, if you've made it this far, I tip my hat to you. The cafe may be closed, but the case,
it's only just begun. June's left a few clues waiting down below.
Follow them carefully. Until next time, keep your mind sharp and your hearts curious.
