Warming ocean vs Antarctic ice

Unexpectedly low sea ice levels enabled Australian icebreaker RSV Nuyina to get right up close to the the Denman Glacier and ice shelf; much closer than anticipated. This was both a shock and a gift for scientists on the Denman Marine Voyage, says physical oceanographer Dr Laura Herraiz Borreguero (CSIRO/AAPP).
