USS Borie vs. U-405: One of WWII’s Most Brutal Naval Battles
There are a lot of ways to destroy a submarine. Throwing knives and flare guns aren’t on the list, but that didn’t stop the crew of one enterprising destroyer from turning a battle on the high seas into something more like a barroom brawl.
