SUPER POD OF NORTHERN RIGHT WHALE DOLPHINSPACIFIC WHITE SIDED DOLPHINS OF THE COAST OF CALIFORNIA

This time 2,000+ northern right whale dolphin and 500-700+ pacific white-sided dolphin! Northern Right Whale Dolphin are very special, most people don't even know they exist.
We found an incredible super-pod of dolphins on last Friday Feb 21st 2025. People come from all over the world to see northern right whale dolphin, which is one of the only 2 species of dolphin without a dorsal fin. These incredible animals can get up to 10 feet long and over 200 pounds. There were so many baby dolphins in this group also, who are much lighter in color, but just as fast as their moms! This species prefers deeper waters usually several miles offshore but we are lucky here in Monterey bay to have access to deep water close to shore.
We also saw what are called “swirl” morphs in this group, dolphins that have a bit of a different pigmentation and have more white protruding on their pec fins and rostrum/snout area. There are only about 1 in every 100 northern right whale dolphins that have this special pigmentation!
