What's up everybody. Welcome back to the channel.
My name is Joe Daubeny and I'm an electrical engineer and I know on my
content, I show you guys a lot about electrical engineering and things like
that. And as an electrical engineer, I'm a big fan of EVs.
And today I actually got my delivery on the new model Y Juniper,
their new refresh model. As I show you guys around,
I'm going to explain to you guys exactly how I was able to get it.
And I also benefited having a thousand dollars off because I am in the military.
So, you know,
I put my life on the line and then they give me a thousand dollars off for it.
So let's take a look at it. All right.
So today I did take delivery and whenever you come take delivery at Tesla,
they give you this. Congratulations, Joe Daubeny.
And they have a picture of the Tesla vehicles there.
I made a video for you guys maybe about a month ago,
whenever the new refresh model were finally rolling out,
I wanted to make a review for you guys, but I didn't like the video.
So I didn't publish it.
But now I actually have the vehicle because it rides so smooth.
So right here you have the new LED bar that comes with it.
And here you have your tow hitch. So on the side angle of the vehicle,
this is how it looks like.
They added some plastic clips that protects the
wheel. I already had one of the back ones, you know, pop out of place.
I hope it doesn't always do that because that was very annoying.
The last thing I need is one of those plastic covers falling off the road and
coming off. But first things first,
I want to show you guys the front or the front of the car.
Most electric vehicles don't have an engine in the front.
A lot of it is on the bottom. So there's a lot of room.
I'm going to use the Tesla app right now to open up the front of the car.
Oh, Oh yeah. So this is what the front of the car,
and it's different than the old model Y by the fact that they have this drainage
system. So if you wanted to fill it up with ice and then put your drinks
and when you're done,
you can just open this to let all the drain water come out.
And if you haven't driven or use the old model Y,
you won't notice it,
but it was a big hurdle because usually people will have to put like buckets in
here and then they'll take the buckets out.
But now you don't have to worry about that.
So if you're going to go to the beach or something, or I don't know where,
you want to keep cold drinks in here, fill it up with ice, put it in there,
close it whenever you need it and get a fresh one. You're cool.
And on the inside, they also give you this tow hitch, which goes right here.
You'll screw it in and then you'll allow somebody to tow you.
Let's hope I never have to use that. All right, so let's close it. Yeah.
So to unlock the car, they give you a Tesla key card,
which is this thing right here. Let me show you guys.
This is a Tesla key card and you're supposed to walk up to the car and place it
in the middle right here. But because I'm showing you guys how cool Tesla is,
I can just use my phone. All right.
Apparently they said as long as I get close to it unlocks.
This is the front of the car. As you guys can see,
there's a new led light here.
You have the option to put it on during the daytime or the nighttime,
but I just put the nighttime because I also don't want to waste battery during
the daytime. So I kept it like that. And there's something new.
They added on the side of the door panels right here.
They added an emergency lock.
So apparently a lot of people were complaining saying, Hey,
a lot of people are dying or something.
The electric vehicles because they don't know how to unlock the car.
If the car is dead, this button right here is an emergency latch.
Whenever you open it, your car will be open. It used to be in here.
I believe in the launch series that I looked at, but now it's much easier here.
And I think that's very smart for them to do that. Wait a second.
If you've been watching it so far and you're enjoying it,
be sure to hit the like button down below.
It will help the channel tremendously and it helps other people see this video
and enjoy as well. Thank you for watching and subscribing.
And a big thank you to all my channel members for subscribing. And yeah,
let's keep it going. We have several cameras around the vehicle.
I'm still trying to figure out where they're at.
I know we have one in the front to right there. If you can show them,
we have a front facing camera and apparently you're able,
it's able to wash itself. I haven't gotten that deep into it. So, Hey,
you guys go figure that out on your own.
We have a camera right there and here we have another camera.
You guys may have seen videos of people keying Teslas.
That's one of the biggest ones that have been catching them.
I pray nobody hates on me for my Tesla. Please, please.
This is my first brand new vehicle that I've ever bought.
Yeah. Don't do that. Don't do that. All right, everybody.
Welcome to the backseat.
The backseat comes with a little screen TV that I will never use.
So Tesla overcharged me maybe $3,000 for this screen that I will never touch
because I have nobody who gets in the backseat.
So they're trying to make a new model that will no longer require this thing.
I mean, it's cool that the people in the backseat can control where the AC is
going. If they want to watch Netflix,
they're able to connect their own Bluetooth headphones to this backseat.
And I don't even know how many devices you can connect to it.
It has its own little setting, Bluetooth devices. And if you have kids,
this might be something you like, but I don't have kids, you know, uh,
love them kids. You know what they say? Apparently with these new cars,
you can now, um, lean the chairs forward and backwards automatically.
So let's, let's test it out. All right.
So I'm going to show you guys how the automatic seats work.
It looks like any other Tesla. Honestly,
you roll this back and you can move the front seats with this.
It has the image. Come show them.
You have these two buttons right here that lets you lean the chair forward.
So we're going to go ahead and lean one of these guys. Look at that.
And it moves my front seat too.
And then if I want to move the guy on the left to close both of them.
Beautiful. So as you can see, I didn't need all that.
I just needed a Tesla everything from the driver and the passenger seat up and
the car, whatever the added back here. Cool. It's nice. I didn't need all that.
Uh, but it is nice to have, I don't know when I'll need to, um,
just electronically let them go down. Honestly,
Tesla would have charged significantly less amount of money if they just remove
the automatic backseat and a little mini iPad for no kids in the back that don't
get in my car. I'm pretty sure they can take off at least $8,000 off of that.
Yeah. I forgot to show you guys, but this car came with four miles on it. Um,
but me driving it all the way to here and getting some food,
it's not a seven mile.
It feels good to be the first person to drive this like amazing.
So if you're new to my channel,
I'm an electrical engineer and I make a lot of electrical engineering videos for
my viewers,
those who are in college and those who maybe are already out of college or those
who want to get into electrical engineering.
And now you see that I purchased a brand new car.
I don't want you guys thinking, Hey,
let me go get an electrical engineer degree so I can purchase a brand new car
immediately. That's literally not what I did.
I've been out of college for a good minute now and most people will tell you
buying a brand new vehicle,
you must wait and you must be in a financial position where it really
benefits you a lot.
And I've been using used vehicles for the longest period of time.
And this year I decided I'm finally in a very good position where I can purchase
a brand new car that can last me for the next six to 10 years of using this
vehicle. And, um, Dave Ramsey,
I apologize because if any of you guys watch his videos,
he always says you need a million dollars before you can get a brand new
vehicle.
But you don't need to be buying a new car, brand new car until you're a
millionaire.
I'm glad he believes that,
but that's him and a lot of people don't have a million, million dollars.
And sometimes it's good to buy a brand new vehicle because tomorrow is not
guaranteed. You may think, Hey,
let me wait till I have a million dollars to have a vehicle and you pass away
next week.
So now let's get into the nitty gritty of how I was able to afford this vehicle.
What was the prices that went into it? So this vehicle,
the car price was going around $50,000.
And the reason why mine was $50,000 because I got the base color.
I didn't want to get any other extra colors because I'm a simple guy.
I don't need red. I don't need blue, black.
I need a car to drive me from point A to point B and be electrified.
That's why I picked it. So initially on the website,
it shows you the car is going for a interest rate.
If you have good credit, the APR is supposed to be around 6.34.
And because I have good credit, I ended up getting it for 5,
49%, 5.49% for my APR.
And I did take the $7,500 EV credit that got applied directly to the
car price. I didn't want to, I didn't want to apply to my taxes.
Cause I always ended up paying for taxes. So you're not taking away my money.
Prior to getting this vehicle,
I literally just sold my other car this past weekend for $8,000 to a young,
amazing lady who decided to pick up the best Audi A3 2015 ever
known to man. That was my baby. I went through college with that thing.
I took my girl on so many dates with that, but you know,
now it has a new lover and I had to get myself a new lover right here. Uh,
so she's happy. I'm happy. We keep it going.
So that ultimately dropped the price down to $39,793.
And that's what I am financing currently.
So when I finally purchased the vehicle,
I ended up paying, uh, putting down 6,700 right now,
because that's what Tesla asked. I think I had put it in the wrong number,
but my next payment,
I'm going to put more chunks in because ultimately I'm trying to lower the
initial principle as much as possible.
If the Trump tariff war wasn't going on right now,
then maybe I would have dropped a lot more.
But right now I'm not trying to sell any of my crypto or stock holdings at all
until we're back into good water. And then once we're where I needed to be,
I might drop 15,000 and just lower the price of this vehicle.
So I can just play a little bit. And for some of you guys wondering,
if you have the money to pay cash, why not?
It's because if I took out $39,000 and pay this cash right now,
all my investing power is gone in the middle of minutes.
But right now I have the vehicle. I might pay $600 for it a month,
but the other $39,000 is still being invested.
If my money doubles by the end of the year, but I had bought this,
I'll be out of another $39,000. So that's how I look at it.
So that's pretty much what I got. And I got it for six, 75 months.
But my goal is to probably finish it within the next three years that I can just
be free. You can't prepare for the future when things get hard and rough.
I would really want this mosquito of a payment out of my ear by that time.
So if you made it this far,
I really appreciate everybody who came to watch this video. Um,
I just got this today and I've been driving it already and I really enjoy it.
And if this is something that you really want,
all I got to say is buy the car that you really want that doesn't kill your
budget. That's why I did it.
Some people will buy cars that are 40 or 50% of their yearly salary and then
they get bit in the butt whenever they can't make payments. So by,
if you want to buy a new car, buy it within your price range.
And if you take care of it, it'll take care of you. And on that note,
thank you for watching this video and subscribing and I'll see you guys in the
next video. Jidabri is out.
