"AT LAST! The astounding Mozart tenor sings (a regrettably shortened version of) this aria, live from a Salzburg performance of Die Entführung in 1965, with Rothenberger, Grist, and Mehta conducting.

While the Peter Schreier version (which for me is the definitive version for his intelligent musicianship and gentle fioritura) has precise, delicate runs and a cool temperament, Wunderlich's bursts with passion in his coloratura, with incisive delivery, but still retaining his beauty of tone.
