Dance of the Moriscos on Marienplatz for Munich's city birthday in 2025

On Saturday, June 14 and Sunday, June 15, 2025, the city of Munich will celebrate its 867th birthday with an event mile in the city center! There will be a varied program with music, dancing and a large beer garden on the main stage at Marienplatz. We'll tell you what's on offer here.
The Munich Moriskentanzgruppe of the TU Munich performs a reconstructed Moriskentanz with music from the Renaissance. The morris dance is an originally Moorish dance with unusual aerial leaps that came to Munich in the 15th century. To the delight of the audience, many original leaps and capers were performed around a beautiful maiden.
