Game number six of his 10 game
homestand at the Cardinals
coming in for four starting
tomorrow night.
Chad Patrick numbers speak for
themselves.
Rocky hasn't had a lot of run
support but the other numbers
he's been spectacular and in the
candidacy for National League
Rookie of the Year he'll face
Ronald Acuna Ronald for it's in
the series he's ready.
So is Patrick and a fly ball in
the shallow right.
Sal Freilich is on the run.
And Sal.
And he caught another one.
The gold Glover gets out number
one for Chad Patrick.
See how far Sal Freilich came on
this fly ball from Ronald Acuna
Junior.
See where he's playing and he's
the only guy who's got a shot to
make this play.
Really fearless right.
That wall doesn't scare him at
all.
Anyway you can get Acuna out
early in the game.
Got to take advantage of it.
Baldwin back to Patrick knocks
it down knocks it down a second
time and finally throws out
Baldwin for out number two a
solid single up the middle to
prevent a one two three inning.
I'll tell you what we're seeing
some pretty good velocity here
in the first inning from Chad
Patrick and Austin Riley able to
get the head out here but ninety
six miles an hour Olsen two for
eight in the series lines one
towards left Bowers playing the
slice makes the catch and the
inning ends.
Nice job by Chad Patrick puts up
a zero Brewers coming up when we
come back with six one two
hundred and Powell Riney
Spencer's run about he is on the
mound for Atlanta here today.
Fourteenth start of the season
for four record three to four on
the ERA Allen had to go a long
way.
Now Turing saying maybe they
want to take another look at it.
Either way that was a hard play
for Nick Allen to make going
against his body there.
The exchange how quickly he gets
rid of the baseball and then how
accurate the throw is and then
you get Matt Olsen with the big
stretch.
What helps him might have made
the difference right there.
Tremendous defensive effort by
the captain of the infield Nick
Allen Youngster's birthday.
Maybe you can go another homer
for Jackson Churio hit one
yesterday.
Churio goes down the right field
line this one slicing towards
the corner is a terrible and
extra base for Churio turns on
the Jets.
He's on his way to third and he's
there standing.
The slider very similar to the
slider that he hit out of the
ballpark last night.
So Jackson Churio 90 feet away
with one out Contreras Crowder
to Reilly play at the plate.
And the tag is applied by Drake
Baldwin to get a big second out
the infield is in this ball is
right at Austin Reilly and maybe
because it was a high chopper he
thought he would have a chance
to beat it home.
But that is a gift from the
Milwaukee Brewers and a gift that
the Braves will take and unwrap
and put on their mantle and look
at it fondly.
Two down for Jake Bowers and a
ground ball out to second Ozzies
on the other end.
No problem goes over the first
base and there's out number
three.
So the Braves flash the leather
nothing up on the board for the
Brewers.
We go to the top of the second
no score.
Twenty six year old rookie in
his 14th big league start has
not given up over three runs in
any outing yet but he walks
Marcello Zuniga to start the
second.
So Zuniga down the first year's
Ozzie all these in a swing and a
foul held on to by Haas.
The cutters on the corner.
That's perfect.
You can't walk it across any
better than that.
Perfect pitch no score top of
the second inning.
Braves got a lead off walk from
Marcello Zuniga down to the
hands of Michael Harris.
Braves looking for some bang
from the bottom of the order.
He drills this deep to right.
June Michael is out and this
thing was absolutely hammered
cutter right down the middle.
That went four hundred and
thirteen feet away from home
plate.
No doubt here for Michael Harris
to get the Braves on the board
that had to feel especially good
for Harris his fifth of the
season and Atlanta grabs the
lead.
Nick Allen at first base one
wonder Ronald drilled the left
solid single and it continues
here two on with two out Braves
with a walk and then a single
with two down have two men
aboard now for Drake Baldwin.
Drake has lots of friends and
family here.
Grew up a little bit over an
hour from here in Madison
Wisconsin single to the left
side here for Drake Baldwin.
Come on in Nick Allen.
So Drake Baldwin his homecoming
series here back in the state of
Wisconsin and he drives in a run
to make it three to nothing.
And he continues for Riley
struck him out and Patrick gets
out of it.
He faces eight hitters in the
inning.
The Braves get three time to get
to work on the offensive side.
Spencer Schwellenbach sitting in
a good position with a three run
lead and he'll go to work on
Reese Hoskins Hoskins a high
fly ball deep left that goes
right at the track wall by my
baseball Reese Hoskins into the
second deck and left his tenth
home run of the season and the
Brewers are on the board.
It's three to one Atlanta.
Now is a sinker down and in not
a bad pitch from Schwellenbach.
But Hoskins who just missed a
home run last night sends one up
and out of here by plenty.
And that's a good response from
the crew after that three run top
half of the inning by Atlanta.
Here's Ozuna Oh one hard hit
ball to left field in for a base
hit from Marcel Ozuna.
He's on for the second time in
the game as the Albies 0 4 1
with a strikeout got him went
back to that backdoor cutter and
strikes out all these again and
a good pitch for him today.
Now it's Harris hit a cutter
into the second deck for his
fifth home run of the season
back in the second inning.
Got him through a change up
puts up a zero in the third
nine one and two coming up the
Brewers in their order starting
with Eric Haas.
And he fans him with a splitter
second strikeout for
Schwellenbach one down here in
the third inning Schwellenbach
is settling in.
He has now fanned three of the
last four and it's the split on
these last two punch outs.
That's feeling pretty good.
And that's an incredible chase
that he gets from to right
ground ball to Nick Allen.
What an inning for Schwellenbach
a couple of strikeouts and a
first pitch ground down Eli
White had a home run the other
night he's gone two for seven in
the series White Fly ball to
right Freilich.
Getting towards that line leaps
and he caught another one.
Sound Freilich was high in that
wall the entire way and able to
take another out from the
Braves.
How many circles can you put
around plays that sound Freilich
makes throughout the year.
Not a tall guy but very
athletic perfectly times his
leap before it hits the padding
or the fence.
One of the two and something
else very talented out there and
right.
One out for Nick Allen Allen's
going to suck one in the right
field and that's in for a base
hit.
He's on for the second time in
the game.
Cooney at the plate a base hit
anybody you can get on before
Ronald Jr. comes to bat is the
plus Ronald Acuna Jr. left
center field and gone sixth of
the season.
That one a no doubter and
Atlanta with a four run lead in
the four Ronald Acuna Jr. second
home run now of this series
and one hundred eight off the
bat four hundred and sixteen
feet.
We know nobody loves to play the
game more than Ronald Acuna Jr.
and he's doing that man that is
fun to watch.
Spencer Schwellenbach back to
work.
Here's Joey Ortiz Schwellenbach
hits ninety nine again to
record his fifth strikeout.
That's three straight one two
three inning just flirting with
a hundred miles an hour and
challenging.
Spencer Schwellenbach has
retired a dozen brewers in a row
going back to the home run by
Hoskins in the second it's been
twelve up and twelve down since
then swinging a miss by Haas.
Now a half dozen strikeouts for
Schwellenbach.
I feel like you've got to get
somebody on and break up this
rhythm a little bit.
Terrang in the left center for a
base it is the third hit of the
game for the Brewers and Terrang
Jones and for a hit for a while
Brewers break the string of
consecutive outs thirteen
straight from Schwellenbach and
now you get Chury to the plate
broken bat Ozzie steps on the
bag double play Schwellenbach
continues to cruise through
six Austin Riley down to first
base lead off walk man on in
front of Matt Olsen line drive
Ortiz jumps but can't grab it
single for Olsen and Atlanta
trying to add on here the
seventh inning.
So as soon as it hits it on the
ground the third Durbin goes to
the second for one on the first
it turned the double play easy
double play that'll help McGee
get out of this mess Riley over
the third base amongst all that
two down Ozzie Alvarez with a
chance to drive in Riley Ozzie
Alvarez out of the right center
to drive in Austin Riley nice
two out clutch hit for Ozzie
Alvarez and Atlanta now up five
into the seventh inning.
Spencer Schwellenbach goes back
to work.
He has seven strikeouts of the
game fastball swung on missed.
It's not a comfortable at bat
here today against Spencer not a
single walk issued by
Schwellenbach trying for another
perfect inning.
Here comes Reese Hoskins who's
delivered the Brewers their
lone run of the day swung on
missed Hoskins strikes out eight
eight strikeouts now for
Schwellenbach in the game and
another one two three inning.
He might be poised to go the
distance today.
Freelich hit second with two
outs here in the bottom of the
eight brings up Haas that one
down the left field line got
some carry.
It is in the corner and off the
wall that'll score a run to make
it six to two a double by a Haas
back on the board two out double
to score a run and Brewers on
the board.
Now that brings up the top of the
order.
Spencer is just trying to fill up
his own get those bragging rights
of throwing a CG out into right
center.
He's up in the air for Michael
Harris Spencer Schwellenbach
with eight strong today in
Milwaukee.
Spencer Schwellenbach will try
for the first complete game of
his young Major League Baseball
career.
Jackson Cheerio to lead things
off.
This will help Nick Allen
battles the sun and one down
here in the night.
William Contreras will be the
batter Adios swung on and miss
at a high fastball.
That is his ninth strikeout of
the game.
Third time he struck out
William Contreras today and now
Schwellenbach is one out away
from his first complete game in
the big leagues.
He'll have to go through Jake
Bowers Grater to Ozzie all
these.
This should do it.
A complete game for Spencer
Schwellenbach.
He was sensational first
complete game of his career and
he strikes out nine to boot.
What a great moment for Spencer
Schwellenbach and he showed zero
signs of getting tired.
That last pitch at ninety eight
miles an hour.
Congratulations to Spencer
Schwellenbach.
What a moment for him.
