This home is a multi-award-winning architectural masterpiece and you can stay here for up to
two thousand dollars per night. It's built on a 1624 square meter section
but the question is could this be your perfect place?
Welcome to Find the Perfect Place, your new destination for amazing home tours where we
showcase homes you can either stay, create or buy. Today you'll find us in Christchurch,
New Zealand in the suburb of Heathcote Valley staying at Bridal Path Retreat.
Winner of five national awards and complete with luxurious sophistication many can only dream of.
It's just a short drive from the beach, Christchurch Gondola and many other
local attractions. We can't wait to show you around today's perfect place. Come with us.
Brought to you by Book A Home, Bridal Path Retreat hosts eight guests. It has four bedrooms,
three bathrooms and holds endless amounts of magic across 418 square meters of living space.
The architecture enables you to experience this magic in bold and brilliant ways.
With a feeling of elevation you are instantly immersed in nature as an abundance of natural
light flows through the open plan living area. The extensive use of glass frames the surrounding
nature creating an opulent oasis for all to enjoy. Bridal Path Retreat is also the perfect place to
host events. Arranging with Book A Home you're able to use their event planner to plan something
super special with this amazing backdrop. The open plan living area consists of the kitchen,
dining and lounge and this award-winning designer kitchen is undoubtedly the heart of the home.
It's perfect for hosting and entertaining. Overlooking the sweeping valley views this
island bench is extensive in size truly elevating the space creating magic.
No luxury has been spared with sleek pressed to open cabinetry, double oven,
built-in coffee machine, microwave and dishwasher, also a butler's pantry.
Book A Home truly have thought of everything for the duration of your stay with lots of
little extras provided including all cooking essentials, a variety of different milk, tea
and coffee and there's many hidden little surprises throughout the home that we will
leave as a surprise. The only addition that could elevate this space further is the added
warmth and texture created by the Rimu timber ceiling. It elongates and connects this open
plan living space beautifully. After experiencing this stay for myself I have to claim this as the
best seat in the house. Not only is the space itself perfect for conversation this sofa has
such a quirky elegance and sitting here you get to observe the pure magic created through the
dining area and surrounding floor to ceiling windows that make a magical piece of art out of
the surrounding greenery. It's one of my favourite sights within the home and it's made even more
magical as from this seat you also get to overlook the heated saltwater pool. A unique and rare
feature not often found in New Zealand homes, this body of water creates a zen like calmness.
I have loved swimming during our stay and the pool creates the perfect backdrop
for the surrounding outdoor spaces.
The floating concrete steps invite you in to the sunken lounge. This space is so super cozy
and comfortable. Bronson and I particularly love how they've positioned the TV to the side of the
gas fire rather than above like we've seen so commonly in other stays. And the pendant light
above especially at night time is absolutely gorgeous. So many beautiful patterns on the
surrounding concrete walls. The concrete itself is so robust and it really does create such a
sense of security when you're relaxing in this space.
We did say this stay is magical in bold and brilliant ways. It's now time to show you the hidden lounge.
Not only does the architecture itself create the magic, Booker Home have included a magical
touch of their own, providing a locally made New Zealand gin to be enjoyed during your stay.
Adding to the magic and luxury, the floor to ceiling windows have electric blinds.
And these polished concrete floors are incredibly robust yet sleek. They are also
heated throughout the home to keep you toasty warm on those cooler winter months.
As we bypass the main entrance we head on through to the accommodation wing.
Just on my side here this is the family bathroom which services the three
double bedrooms. These are all elegantly positioned with garden view and access.
It's so super cool to see that all of the rooms have access to the outdoors.
All the linen throughout is hotel quality and in these three double bedrooms there
is built-in ropes which is perfect for storing your belongings during your stay.
We're now entering into the primary bedroom. This space is full of opulence and elegance.
Spacious yet intimate, the wonderful lighting design continues through into this space. The
pendant lights either side being in that beautiful copper tone reflect beautifully
of the copper detail along the cabinetry at the foot of the bed. This is a super king bed,
it is incredibly comfortable. We had the best night's sleep last night and we particularly
love how the headboard is actually built in with the gorgeous Rimu timber. This actually
flows on through from the open plan living area and it covers the ceiling as well as the back
wall. Being built in 2018 this home is undoubtedly luscious and modern. I love the addition of the
Rimu wood as it adds such a beautiful history to the space. And you also have the perfect
couple's ensuite walk-in wardrobe and access to the private spa.
The couple's ensuite includes dual shower heads and dual basin and the mirror is even heated
to avoid steam while showering.
Adding to this award-winning stay we have a four-car garage that has been completely converted
into an entertainer's heaven. This is perfect for both adults and children. It is complete
with biddy's bar as the centerpiece. There is a table tennis table, a dartboard, a huge array of
board games and then tucked away in the corner next to the bathroom there is two mountain bikes
so you can explore beyond the walls of Bridal Path Retreat. To the far right wall there is a sleek
and well-disguised laundry area so we can balance out the fun with the chores. Zesha and I have
truly enjoyed our time here at Bridal Path Retreat and this room has been one of our go-tos
during the entirety of our stay.
This home is in a class of its own encompassing modern contemporary design
