❄La Cara - 2025 - DK Horse Acorn

Acorn, they're in the gate, and they're off in the DK Horse Acorn, and La Cara sprints right out of the gate. Scottish Lassie is flashing sharp early speed. These two hook up right away as they move into the first turn. Just in behind them, it's Blessed the Broken, who's third in the opening for a long pass just now by Look Forward, who takes that third spot and is only two lengths off the lead. On the extreme outside, Quick Kick has three lengths to make up, and Good Cheer was not quick out of the gate. She's at the back of the field, six lengths off front running La Cara. La Cara went the opening quarter in 23 and two-fifths seconds, leading the way by a length over Look Forward in second, then Quick Kick and Scottish Lassie racing side-by-side toward the half-mile pole. Down on the inside, Blessed the Broken has five lengths to make up. Good Cheer inches up outside of her. Good Cheer is going to have to go wide when making her bid, and is five lengths off through a half in 47 seconds flat. La Cara with that brilliant speed continues to show the way around the far turn. Look Forward has been second, but is now two lengths behind. It's another three back to Scottish Lassie in third. Luis Saez asking Good Cheer to get going. Good Cheer is in trouble. She's got a lot of work to do, and Blessed the Broken on the inside. La Cara turns for home through three quarters in one, ten and three. She's running a giant race and has a three-length advantage coming to the furlong pole. Scottish Lassie is closing in the center of the track, and Look Forward running a good race. Good Cheer is well beaten this afternoon. It's La Cara with a four-length lead close to home. Dylan Davis and La Cara all the way in the DK Horse Acorn. A three-and-a-half length win. Look Forward ran a big race in defeat. Scottish Lassie was third, and Blessed the Broken finished fourth.
