Dabang Delhi T.T.C. vs Dempo Goa Challengers | IndianOil UTT Season 6 | Tie 7 - Highlights

Tie 7 in front of us today. Twice winners, Dempo Goa challengers taking on once winner, Dabangg Delhi TTC. This promises to be a very interesting encounter. Tie number 7, order of play in front of you. We're starting off with these two top performers in front of you. Thiago in the light blue. Isaac Quek in the dark blue for Dabangg Delhi TTC. Deep to the corner. He's able to pull this forehand out and find placement so it's untouched. Backhand step around. Isaac Quek knows that his opponent is going to step around so says get deep in that corner and it opens up the wide forehand side. The step around pays off. A man who's won most of his points on backhand in the first half of this game. That is some clever set up play. From the 18-year-old Isaac Quek. A little break off the net here. Isaac taking advantage. And with only 5 players, season 1 what 9 players? Nice flick there with the forehand to start it off. It's another match point for the server. Isaac Quek takes it 11-0. Defeated this season so far and he hasn't dropped a game yet today. Puts everything into the first spin and gets really low. Look at the legs on Isaac Quek. The effort that he puts in there. Dempo Goa challengers this time around. Down 0-2. Shot block was so sweet. Tiago cuts the corner off that, the lower corner of the ball. Isaac still has a good response to it. Isaac Quek here. Really showing his dominance, his confidence and his fearlessness in play. And he takes the game to 0. Isaac Quek adjusts just in time. 11-9. A clean sweep over a very strong Tiago Apolonia. Isaac Quek is dangerous. 3-0. What a start it is to the men's singles in match number 1 today. Tung Chien vs. Dia Chitale. The battle that we've been waiting for. It'll be quite exciting to see. That timing. This is an impressive recovery for me because Tung Chien is on the chase throughout this rally. Dia stays right on top of the baseline. And here she is in front. Smart play right back to where it came from. Tung Chien. Heads up a game point. Quite a streak here. Three in a row. Turns the fast one and takes back the game. It is back and forth. The veteran between the two gets a point on the scoreboard. The tie slightly tighter. Winning performance continues in Ultimate Table Tennis Season 6. 11-9 to win game 1. Six games on the trot. Matches rather. And this is no Dia land. As good as she is behind the table, Tung Chien controls with the timing. Dia hasn't even won 1-5 for Chien in this game. Puts an end to a 6-match win streak for the first time in 7 matches. Can't ask for a much better shot than this on a step around. Dia loading this ball with legs. Powering in as she positions herself and pivots. The speed and athleticism. Tung Chien has not only stopped the unstoppable, but she's done it in style. 3-0 against a player who had not been beaten in her previous 6 matches spanning back a year. 3-a-piece in the tie. Here are the stats for the second match after 3 games played. Mixed doubles. For Tempecoa challenger Tung Chien and Harveed Desai pairing up versus Maria Zhao and Satyen Nanyashekaran. I can keep it simple as well. I'll just take the first names. Four points between them here. Oh, look at this parallel. Maria Zhao, short stroke, is a tall player. One of the tallest women in this season. For the teal too. And the pressure. It's the flick of Harveed to set it up. And the finishing shot is Tung Chien. Tung Chien and Harveed Desai. Take game number one. Tempecoa challengers have taken a 4-3 lead now. Love seeing that. For Maria Zhao and Satyen Nanyashekaran who lead 9-2. The flat kill shot tower. An impressive put away, but it's the set up. They've finally done it. This match is now tied at 1-a-piece. It's the bet of Maria Zhao and Satyen Nanyashekaran. Coming back in style that two. Winning game number two by 11-5 margin. But misdirection. Tung Chien keeping the opponents on their toes. Taking the match. Maria Zhao and Satyen when they were down what, 0-6? Took the second. And the third here, 11-8. The pairing of Satyen and Maria Zhao. Doing wonderfully together to set up the lead. Dabung Delhi TTC. Looking quite Dabung out here right now. All eyes on this one. 31-year-old Harveed Desai taking on 32-year-old Satyen Nanyashekaran. Pretty much the same as far as the matches are concerned. Pretty much the same as far as matches won. Exactly the same. Beautiful recovery off the net. Harveed Desai putting real pressure behind this ball. Reminder of the tie score. Dabung leading 5-4. Harmeet is on the bench. Oh the field. Usual rally. And it sets up two game points for Satyen Nanyashekaran. Mid-rally and another push. Before the topspin of Satyen controls to take the point. Right into the middle. Satyen takes the game. And is he fired up? No doubt about it. 11-8. He takes game number one. Yes of course there's a winner there. But in my humble opinion there is no loser there. Both points. Both players. Winners. What a rally. No stranger to playing high pressure games. Both these players. Oh yes. Oh the sneaky one goes past. Hot potato. Neither was falling for the bait. Harmeet Desai puts it away. Man look at that energy. Want to get one back. You're racing to wait. You are racing to wait to win the tie. And Delhi are two away from it. The power on this shot. Perfectly into the body. Oh. Quality. A big win. If these two were not both on their game we would not have had such an exciting battle. The decision to go with the attack. Could have been passive play but he waited patiently for it to come off the side. And look at the fire. Tie number seven is now at six apiece. One match to determine the tie. Sayali Vani versus Maria Xiao. And a soft flick. Not trying to kill the ball. Change it up. Seven game points for Maria Xiao. So quick. Maria Xiao deals with the spin coming in steady on the parallel. Eleven to three. She takes game number one. Oh. One more shot. Maria Xiao with a nice handle. And then Sayali on the parallel right back. Ranit Banja up on his feet there. Good coverage there. Quick. Love it. Again almost no follow through on the serve. Oh. The step around Sayali. Wow. Sayali leading open that forehand side of the table. Door wide open. But the quality on this shot. Full commitment. A kick of her own. It's top spin. Maria Xiao just like we saw in doubles. And it takes the tie. Eleven to seven in the game. Tie score now eight to six. The question is will the prophecy be fulfilled? Will it be nine six? Maria Xiao winning seven points in a row. Oh. Good shot. Sayali is facing it right now in this stage of her career. Be rest assured that Maria too has faced this phase in her career. Game point now for Maria Xiao. She gets it. Before the start of this match. The ask was simple. Go out there. Win three nil. Make sure that tie score goes nine six in favor of Dabangg Delhi TTC. And that's exactly what Maria Xiao has done. Dabangg Delhi TTC. They continue to roll ahead. And the tie has ended nine six in favor of Dabangg Delhi TTC.
