The CCP’s Transnational Repression of Falun Gong in San Diego County

Shortly after the Chinese Communist Party started its persecution of Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, in China in 1999, American elected officials in San Diego county began receiving letters from the Chinese Consulalte in Los Angeles, defaming Falun Gong and businesses founded by Falun Gong practitioners, such as NTDTV and Shen Yun Performing Arts, and telling the officials to not give any recognition or support to Falun Gong.

I have obtained copies of a few of these letters over the years and want to share their content in light of the CCP’s continuing transnational repression of Falun Gong.

In my narrative, out of respect for Falun Gong, I have omitted the worst slander and defaming labels used in the consulate letters.
