NASA revealed New Nuclear Rocket Engine to Mars! Even Faster than SpaceX Starship...
By 2029, Elon Musk hopes to send the first humans to Mars, and eventually transport millions of people to live there permanently. But as you might know, reaching the Red Planet which lies an average of about 140 million miles away, will be a monumental feat.
Colder than Antarctica and with almost no oxygen, Mars is an extremely harsh environment. The longer astronauts take to get there, and the longer they stay, the higher the risks they’ll face.
A round-trip mission to Mars aboard Starship would take at least an incredible 21 months: nine months to reach the planet, three months on the surface, and another nine months to return to Earth.

Would you be willing to take on such a journey?
Let’s be honest, there’s a lot of hesitation, isn’t there?
But what if there was a faster way to get there?
This is where one of NASA’s earlier research projects shines, nuclear thermal rocket engines. This program promises to dramatically shorten the travel time to Mars, potentially offering speeds even faster than Starship.
So, how exactly is NASA developing this system?
Let’s find out on today’s episode of Alpha Tech.

The Starship is an amazing piece of engineering. It will one day be the standard for spaceflight. It is insanely large, fast, and completely reusable and both stages can land in an upright position.
Even NASA believes in it as it has contracted SpaceX to use it to land NASA astronauts on the moon. And the US military wants to use it for ultra rapid transport of cargo here on the earth.
