So this is a little special POV video. We're not doing the same kind of walking,
just walking around trying to find stuff to photograph. I thought why not spin this. I have
one hour in my garden with all the birds and just try to be creative and like put up sticks. See
what we can capture in one hour and when this rings the video's over. Let's spin the wheel.
One hour, let's go.
I think we need some kind of game plan. I know I have a feeding station as you already know if
you watch this channel up in the forest right here and I can see there's a lot of activity
right there but I also had a feeding station here and I have some apples hanging and I've
already seen a blackbird there but I think I'm gonna put out some more food to them
somewhere here because if I can get them attracted to this area I have a very far
distance to the background and we can create a very very nice like yeah depth. We will get some
very blurry shots. Maybe I can fill this up with some food and maybe place this on something here
and I think I'm gonna like place a stick here so I get because I've already tried photographing
birds in this bush but the thing is they're all always inside here. First things first let's put
some food in here and I do this the first thing because it takes some time for the birds to to
find it. I think I'm gonna just pour this and miss a lot because then some birds prefer to eat
from the ground so there we have it perfect. I guess we're gonna need to find somewhere to
put this. I'm gonna put it right here until I find a stick. I wonder if we should just yeah find a
stick first of all then I need to get up there and shoot some photos. The thing is it's incredibly
beautiful because we have this rim frost. I don't know if that's the English word for it but it's
incredibly beautiful and I would like a stick where the rim frost is still there on but that
might be a bit tricky. Oh this is a nice stick right here.
I want them pretty thin like this because small birds on a thick branch doesn't really look
the way I want it to. This could work but we don't have any rim frost. I really hope that's the word
Well this is pretty good but uh okay project find a stick it's a lot of activity.
As you can see I have an owl nesting box here that I put up and I had a camera on this tree
and only like three days after I put it up I got a visit from a tawny owl so I really really hope
that we will get a nesting pair here in the in the spring. That would be freaking amazing to have
it in my backyard. Well I guess we can forget the the rim frost sticks. Well we haven't found it yet
Imagine like we could place it somehow.
It's going crazy good for me. Maybe this could work if I stand right if I stand here the
that could work but I don't really like the angle of it. Something like this maybe there we go
Did that work? So if I place myself we have a pretty nice background. Look at that. Isn't that
fantastic? We'll let this sink in. Let's go and photograph. I don't even want to know how many
minutes I burned on finding a stick. Yeah approximately 15 minutes.
There's a lot of activity. I just need to find the right angle and place myself there.
You know what I'm gonna move this because I don't want it in my shot but
I obviously still want it in the area so
Hi. What a cutie. Hey.
Don't be simply. Let's go. Yeah directly. Are we sharp? Yes we are. There's a cold tit. No I missed it.
The great tit. The blue tit. Let's see. Blurry shots. Wow that's beautiful with the blue tones
in the snow. Lovely. There's a nut patch as well. There's a lot of species here. I like that.
I cannot have a fast enough shutter speed because it's fairly dark outside even though it doesn't
look like it. The like the the aperture of 6.3 on this lens is a bit too dark for like flying
shots of small birds when it isn't sunny outside. But I could crank the ISO a bit more I guess.
Let's try it out. This is a cool angle as well. There's a cold tit. I really like those. They are
they're so cool because they can get so close to you without even caring at all. It's pretty cool.
I really like the blue tit. How they pop in this in this weather. Yellow and blue really
pops and shines. I like it. Yes perfect. Thank you for perching. That's pretty cool. I like the tones.
I really like the tones in this. Like the it's that tree and they are perching there pretty
often. If I place myself there again I might get a better angle of it. Because like as you can see
here if I if I would shoot the bird in the tree right now there would be just plain white
background. I'll show you. I don't care if it's ah missed it. But it will it will be just plain white
background and I don't want that. So I'm gonna place myself over there so I can get these trees
in the background. And since these trees are frosty the background it will create this kind of
yeah more interesting and yeah a way better photo in my opinion. Let's see if we go
and stand right here we might get yeah this is a better background. Perfect.
If you haven't seen my good friend Peter Lindgren just released this amazing charger for your
batteries and also stores SD cards and CFexpress type A or B wherever if you have Canon or Sony
and you also have micro SD card slots. And it charges all the battery at once and you have
battery indicators and yeah you can use this you can plug your USB-C cable in here and charge your
phone or your drone batteries or basically power your camera if you want to. Such a cool product.
Shout out to Peter for sending me this to try out. Thank you so much and I already love it.
Well no time to spill. Let's go.
Let's get this bad boy on. It is the 70-200mm f2.8 G Master Mark II. Such a nice lens.
Okay let's get some photos. If I just stand completely still right here I have a good
view of this tree and this tree as well as if there's something coming from this direction.
I can see the Canon but it's way far away there. Maybe I can change.
Oh did I get it? Oh that's so close. Crap it's not in focus. Look at that. I have the focus set
on this stick. Obviously I should set the focus like a bit further away behind the stick. I don't
have a tripod with me right now so I think that could be tricky but I can try it out.
I need to be ready if there's a bird flying in. Oh did I get it? Did I get it? No the stick is in
front of it. Oh I missed it. I cannot waste more time on this. Oh tough smith. I don't know the
English word for it but I need to get that on camera.
All right.
Yes come on baby boy. Wow nice. He's not done yet. Oh did I get it? Did I get it?
Now we have action guys. We have a lot of action.
Ah it's gone. Well I need to review these photos. That's a pretty cool shot. Nice.
How much time do we have left? Okay around 17 minutes. I really want to get a shot over there
so I think I'm gonna temporarily just move the food a bit. Just for 15 minutes. Then we're gonna
move it back. You guys take my little fat thing here. I made this. They seem to love it and I can
leave the sunflower seeds for the ones who want it. But I figured if we should shake like change
back to 600 millimeters because I don't think I think I have to back up a bit. I don't think
have time to get the birds really used to me. That usually takes like 15 or 20 minutes of just
standing still. So I think I'm gonna place myself here by the house with the 600 and hope for the
best. I don't want the snow. If I stand here I only have a good background on like the tallest
of the branches. I want all of the branches to have the trees in the background. Because
having snow as I said it's just plain white and doesn't look interesting at all. So
let's get down. I wonder if the angle works. I would want to get a little bit closer to be honest.
I don't have much time. So you know what instead of getting a mediocre shot I'm gonna
go for it. Put myself right here. We're gonna go for it. They don't care. It seems like they
Oh I think that was a nice frosty shot at least.
Yes we got it. There you are again. Come on. Wow we got it in the last minutes. That's crazy.
But I do actually prefer the shots that are taken like naturally in here. Because
as you can see they are more way more natural. And yeah I'm really happy with that. Well that was
one hour and I'm happy with the results. I've got some some shots that I think turned out pretty
cool. Like uh there's deer. Can you see that? There's deer. Okay I need to sneak on them.
They're so cute.
Get in frame. There we go. Come on. Just a little bit to the left. Yes I got the shot.
Look at that. That's very nice. I'm gonna see if I can stand up without them getting scared.
I am gonna eat as well. So thanks for watching. I'll see you in the next video. Bye.
