Diorama Terrarium (Pagoda in the hills)
I had in my collection two stone miniature models of a pagoda and a staircase. I thought of putting together a diorama style terrarium in an Ikea vase. I created a drainage layer with pea gravel and poured in my terrarium soil directly over it. I skipped a mesh substrate separator and a carbon layer because the planing will be mostly moss and a few Selaginella cuttings and Anubias and they would do perfectly well in this setup.
I created a detailed hardscape using the miniature models, seiryu and slate stone and some pieces of detailing wood. After misting the terrarium I proceeded with the moss ground cover followed by the planting of the Selaginella and Anubias. A few more stones were added towards the end to complete the scene. The terrarium was given a final round of misting closed up. Springtails were not added this time.
Terrarium soil/substrate components:
Coco peat - 2 parts
Sand - 1 part
Dry Sphagnum moss - 1 part
Pine bark - 1 part
Activated - carbon -1/2 part
Aquasoil - 1/2 part
Riversoil - 1/2 part
