Suryavarman II - Rulers of the Khmer Empire #10

Following an era of civil unrest and disintegration, the Khmer Empire gets back on its feet during the reign of Suryavarman II. He launched numerous campaigns against his neighbours, and for a while even managed to vassalize the kingdom of Champa. His most lasting legacy would be the construction of the magnificent Angkor Wat. Dedicated to the god Vishnu, it is the largest temple in the capital, and in fact the largest religious structure in the world.
