Hi everyone, I'm Jeff Teague. I'm in Raleigh, North Carolina. This is Toyota Jeff Reviews,
and today we're going to look at Highlander, but in a different way. And as famous 80s pop
artist philosopher Eddie Grant used to say, we're going to rock down to Electric Avenue,
and then we'll take it higher. We're going to rock down to Electric Avenue, and then we'll take it
higher. And think about what he's saying, because what he means is we're going to take a 2022
Toyota Highlander XLE, but we're going to customize it in a different way with an XP package. And by
the way, I do believe I'm the first person to reference Electric Avenue and Highlander in the
same video. So if you like that, hit subscribe. Thanks everyone. Let's get started. XP package is
a Southeast Toyota distributor appearance package, similar to what you see on things like 4Runner,
XP Predator. So you've got badging, running boards, mirror covers, emblem overlays,
then we've got wheels and tires. So that's going to be $2,999. Feel free to leave a comment with
your thoughts. I've got some of my own here. And just like the 80s coming of age, high school movie,
The Girl Next Door, if you've ever seen it, you'll know they said, they asked that question,
is the juice really worth the squeeze? Well, is the juice worth the squeeze? This right here is
magnetic gray Highlander XLE. You can see it's got some brushed metallic in the front.
Not too much chrome though. Now what we do have, we'll call it the figurehead here, because this
is probably one of the things you're going to notice first. We've got these black 20 inch wheels
as part of the appearance series, X series.
And these performance tires have been added to it. Let's see if we can find the size for you here.
There we go. We've got 235, 55 R20. All right, sport all season tires.
We've got these boards, XP badging, gloss black mirror covers.
I'm going to show you the window sticker at the end. I will also review the interior of this
vehicle after I talk about XP. So if you want to stick around for those parts, feel free. If not,
you can end after the XP. I don't want to keep it too long. So we've got the black overlays,
not overlanding, overlays. Here's what it looks like on the other side of the sun. And actually,
let's do it from this side. If I'm facing the sun, camera trick, it looks much worse. That looks
much better. So do you like this one? And now what do we have to compare it to? Well,
if you get the regular XLE, you're going to see it has the traditional silver alloy wheels
with the two contrast. It's got different mirror covers for sure. Badging's different.
So that was the XP package. And if you're reviewing the XLE, you'll see that it has
turn signal indicators. It'll have blind spot monitor. It'll have rear cross traffic alert.
It's going to have LED lights on it. Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 plus. And then it'll have that 3.5 liter
V6 engine. Gives you 295 horsepower, 263 pound-feet of torque matched with an eight-speed
automatic transmission. Can pull 5,000 pounds. Now let's look at the inside. And I'll show you
this from different angles so you can get a feel for what an XLE might be like if you're
considering buying it, or if you want to learn more about the Highlander you just bought.
It's got a raised screen here. It'll have not wireless, but it'll have Apple CarPlay,
Android Auto, Amazon Alexa. Has a power passenger seat. These soft-tech seats right here.
Very nice. And it's got a pattern to it, so it kind of breaks up the all black.
We also have different modes. Sport. Normal. Eco. Lots of USB ports. It's got a smart
shelf storage. Leather steering wheel. I see a moonroof here. Let's go to the back seat. This
Highlander's come with either a bench seat across, or they come with captain chairs. Whichever's
better for you. I like this standard feature. Black out the sun for children, especially when
they can't block it out themselves. We've got seat pockets, rear air, USBs in the house,
cup holders, and then this is a standard. All Highlanders are three row seats.
So what does it look like if you don't have the seats up? Well, there you go.
So there's actually quite a bit of room back here. Best-selling mid-size SUV. It's smooth,
quiet, comfortable, and you can just raise this up. Raise it up. Boom. 16 cubic feet behind
that third row. Power hatch. Has a backup camera with a camera washer. 5,000 pound tow capacity.
It's pretty. Let me show you the window sticker as promised here.
XLE. This is a front-wheel drive made in Princeton, Indiana. Magnetic gray with the
black Softex 2022. Has really good safety ratings, and that should give you some peace of mind for
you and your family that you'll be okay if the worst happened and you'd be in an accident.
So it has lots of good safety features. Active safety features. Here's the fuel mileage up to 29
on the highway. 24 combined. We've got 5,000 pound tow capacity. It doesn't show torque,
but like I said, it's 263. It normally comes with the 18-inch alloy wheels. We've upgraded it,
though, to 20-inch. LED headlights, tail lights, fog lights. It's all there.
And then we've got the Audio Plus. You can use your Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Hi,
aunt. Are you marching one by one? Hurrah. Hurrah. All right. So you can use your Apple CarPlay or
Android Auto to do Waze. You can do Google Maps, iPhone Maps, whatever kind of maps you want. So
you'll get your navigation through that means. Get it delivered. And then this one has some
options on it. You can get it equipped so many different ways from the regional port, XP package
that we already showed you. This has ToyoGuard Platinum, paint protection, carpeted mats,
cargo mat, and that rear bumper metallic accent piece here. So it'll be $47,234. Everyone,
thanks so much for watching. I really appreciate you being part of the channel. You're what makes
me do what I do. I like the way you do what you do. I like the way you do what you do.
